There is a recall on a steering problem for this year,I own the same year and remeber getting something about this in the mail. Call your dealership and it should be free to fix.

How do i bleed a power steering pump i just put on...or do i need to?

Top off the fluid, then start the engine and crank the steering wheel all the way to the left stop, then all the way to the right stop, then left again, then right again, about three times both directions. Then check the fluid level again. That should bleed all the air out of the steering.

How do i bleed the power steering pump for a grand prix 97......or do i have to?

the system will bleed itself, just fill the reservoir and start the car. Turn the wheel all the way to the left and then all the way to the right. Check the fluid level and top off. Repeat this until all air is out of the system.

(1999 pontiac grand prix 3100 v6) when I turn my wheel, rather left or right I hear a moaning. Noise and its very annoying, help me!

Check the power steering fluid, have a helper turn the wheel and look under the hood and see if the power steering pump is making noise, check the P/S belt to make sure it's tight.

My uncle replaced the power steering pump in my 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix but I am still having a whining noise. What is the proper way to bleed the pump of air for a Grand Prix?

the power steering pump, you need to bleed out the rack, this is done by filling the power steering system then turning the wheel from left to right in quick repitions.

My 1997 pontiac Grand prix power sterring is gone and hard to turn i think it might be the pump or sterring whell fluid but cant find it help me please

You might want to check the power steering fluid. The resevoir is on the passenger side toward the passenger seat it is kind of hard to find. But i have a '97 Grand Prix and i noticed that whenever i would turn sharp while going pretty fast it would make a grinding noise and i could feel my steering wheel pulling me. But the thing is the power steering never whinned or anything. So i checked it and there was absolutely none in there. So check the fluids first.

1997 grand am i replace the power steering hose and now when the temp outside is cold i cant hardly turn the cars steering wheel but when the car warms up warms up there is no problem turning the steering...

Please check the fluid level in the power steering pump. After putting on a new hose the fluid may have traveled through the system and you may need more fluid.
