Have you tried replacing the fuel filter? It is located under the cars center on the left side ..
You will find it alongside the main high pressure fuel pump on a metal
support plate held up with 3 bolts.
Remove the 3 bolts with a 10mm
socket wrench to lower the plate. Place a catch pan below the filter to
catch any leaking fuel.
Be careful not to get fuel in you eyes or
running down your arms. Remove the 2 bolts holding the banjo fuel pipe
connections to the filter.
Note the direction of the filter.
Loosen the
clamp holding the filter to the support plate and slide out the old
filter.
Install the new filter in the same direction as the old one and
use new copper sealing washers on the banjo connections.
SOURCE: 89 volvo 240 dl when i put the car into gear i hear a clinking
need more info. I've had a few 240's come in that made noise when putting into gear. It was more of a KLUNK, then a constant rattle/buzz type of noise.
I turned out to be a combination of two noises, that were related. The motor mounts were shot and the exhaust heat shield above the rear muffler, was loose.
It seems that the broken mounts allowed excess exhaust pipe/muffler movement, which in turn came in contact with the loose heat shield. This was the KLUNK and the RATTLE.
SOURCE: No power to injectors on 1984 Volvo 240 DL New wiring harness
ok you must see what is missing. an injector requires 12volts to operate. the 12+ should be constant when key on and engine on or off,and the ground pulses. check both ways and see whats not there. if you have no pulse then ecm,cam sensor, or wiring faulty. is power+ is gone, then you have wiring trouble wich is the easier soulution. check and let us know
