flashing engine light means you have a misfire or multiple misfire which is enough to cause catalist damage. You have not given the make, model or engine size of vehicle, but this would apply to all.
Hello, the vsc/trac lights will turn on whenever the check engine light turns on first, this is a fail safe function, vsc and trac are disabled as soon as the check engine light turns on so the check light needs to be diagnosed first, you will need to have the onboard computer scanned for diagnostic codes for the engine control system, these are usually a letter fllowed by some numbers, for example a P0301 code would be an engine misfire on the #1 cylinder. If there is an Autozone store or other autoparts vhain store like advance auto, pep boys etc give them a call and take the truck there, they usually help you get the trouble code numbers at no charge, after you have this information post a follow up with the results and I can help you with a solution.
This sounds like two problems, the virbrating brakes is due to plusating brakes and this is caused by out of round brake rotors, you will need to have the rotors machined down ture again and this will take care of the vibration when braking. the engine and vsc lights are on because the trucks computer picked up a problem. when everthe check engine light comes on the computer shuts down the vsc because if the engine is not running good then the vsc can not operate correctly and so the computer turns of that system and turns on the light and the engine light is turned on due to a problem. there are so many reasone the engine light could be on for, you will need to have the computer scanned for codes. when the computer detects a problem it stores a code that will tell you which part or sensor is failing or failed. this could be as simple as a loose gas cap or may be a sensor but without scanning its hard to know whats wrong. there are many autopart stores like autozone for example that will scan the codes and give you a print out of the codes. for example there may be a code like po301 cylinder 1 misfire detected, this would mean cylinder 1 is mis firing and then with a little checking you can find out why this is. if you could get the codes and let me know them i would be able to help you further, good luck and have a good day.
You need to have the ecm scanned for codes. The VSC and TRAC OFF lights are one just because the Check engine light is on. Once you clear the code in the ecm they will go off too.
You may need to look at your exhaust system. If you have a leak, your O2 sensors will send the wrong reading to your engine which will in turn tell your engine to fire differently. Your code will come up reading as a misfired bank. See if you have an exhaust leak first, then see about changing out the O2 sensors behind the leak.
You need a scanner to pull out the engine light codes.
Use a shopu manual to aid you with the diagnosis and repair.
The slip indicator and vsc light being on means these systems are not working. Once you pull the codes and do the repair and erase the codes the lights will go off.
There will be a code in there for the misfiring.
Good luck and keep me posted.
