I hav a 95 maxima and my bro drove it till it ran out of gas.Ever since then the engine light has come on and it takes alot for it to turn over when starting. Sometimes the battery dies before itll start.I think it could be the injectors

Check for the engine light for the fault code. Before you go to the injectors I'd check the fuel filter, running it out of gas, and then filling it with gas would/could have churned up all the old dirt at the bottom of the tank and now you have a blocked fuel filter and/or fuel pump

Replace your fuel pump. When you run a vehicle completely out of fuel, you will pull all the sediment off the bottom of the tank, and this will indeed clog fuel injectors, but first it will clog your fuel filter. After replacing your fuel filter, purchase a high-octane fuel injector cleaner, and add it to your fuel tank as specified on the side of the fuel injector cleaner bottle specifies.

95 Nissan Maxima didn't have an inline fuel filter. I added fuel system cleaner to almost empty tank and after driving some it now cranks but won't start

Hello ,, If i were to guess , I would say you cleaned everything up and put all the gunk directly into the injectors . I would try blowing air in the fuel line , but , go a close as you can get to the engine , disconnect the fuel line so that the gunk goes back to the tank and not the engine . then take (with the line still off ) a can of brake clean with the small tube on it and squirt to towards the injectors (the other end of the fuel line that goes towards the engine ) to try to get some of the gunk to come out of the system . Now with the fuel filter still on the car and the end of the fuel line from the tank turn the key on and let the fuel run into a bucket or bottle till you see clean fuel coming out . Then reconnect the fuel line to the engine ,, fill the rest or the tank with new gas and try starting it . You may have to try cranking it a few times till the gunk is out but it just might work . If it dosent you might have to clean up the injectors or replace them . Make sure you can hear the fuel pump working because it might have wrecked that too . Hope that helps.

1995 Nissan Maxima idle problems

Let's try the cheapest fix first. Change the fuel filter out. You'll probably see a brown looking goop in the gas, This is an "ETHANOL" problem. Read up on it. These are all related to so many idle and acceleration problems. Buy a can of SEAFOAM at the parts house. Fill up tank with Premium and add SEAFOAM. Then change filter out before 500 more miles. This should clean out the water and the goop and the carbon build up caused by the ETHANOL. Add a can of SEAFOAM every 3000 mile after that to a full tank of gas. It will keep your emissions, engine, and fuel lines clean. And will keep your car from line freeze up. Good luck.

PLEASE HELP!! '95' chevy monte carlo z34 3.4L will not start back up.

Hi anthony,

you said you had gas, exactly how much, the reason I ask this question is in '95 GM had major issues with fuel pumps. The fuel pumps of that year depended on the tank always being at least 1/4 full. The uses the fuel to cool itself if you run the car lower on gas than this you will experience exactly what your experiencing
