    if diagram does not come up, you can go to any auto parts store and they should be able to make a copy or diagram of the belt routing. also ford dealer should do this too!

SOURCE: need diagram for serpentine belt

According to autozone.com, there are 2 engines, VIN S and U. One has alt on top and one has it in back. Both diagrams pasted below.

2003 ford taurus serpentine belt route 3.0 ohc
There was a dual overhead cam so I'm guessing that's the engine you are talking about The other 3.0 liter engine wasn't an overhead cam engine. I went on to be on the safe side and provided belt diagrams for both engines because they were different. The first picture and description of which pulley is which is for the DOHC 3.0L engine which is what I'm guessing you have. The second set of pictures/descriptions is for the other 3.0L engine. Hope this helps....

Good Morning, I am in need of a serpentine belt diagram for a 2000 ford taurus, 3.0L W/ air condtioning. could someone please help me with this? thank you in advance.
Well, there are actually two different 3.0L engines used in a 2003 Mercury Sable. One is an Overhead-Valve (OHV) type engine. The other is a Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) 24-valve engine. You can tell the difference by just looking at the engine or by checking the 8th digit in your VIN. For the OHV engine the 8th digit of the VIN will be a "U" and the DOHC engine will be an "S".

This is important information when it comes to getting parts or information for your vehicle.

Anyway, I have provided belt routing diagrams below for BOTH of these engines.
