Thanks,

Sounds like a fuel problem check for spark and try to get the car running on ehter (aerosol starting fluid) spray it into the air intake (makesure not to spray the filter just take it out) and have a helping hand turn the key if the car runs, then its a fuel problem prbly the fuel pump, NOTE: When running only on ether the car will sound very funny this is normal, IF the car wont start problems are elsewhere such as a timing belt slipping, no spark, no compression, Bad coil, weak starter, bad valve ect etc HOPETHIS HELPS feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]

Truck wont crank. we have put new distributor cap, rotor button, coil pack, plugs, wires, and fuel pump. we also checked our firing order.

you said you repl dist cap that means you don't have a crank sensor you have electronic ing module. remove your elec ing module have it tested most auto parts stores could test your module, or check your coil at the neg terminal. should have power. if not you lost your primary volt from your batt.your secondary power is coming from your electronic ing module from the module to the pos terminal on the coil, when the eng cranks, from the coil to the dist cap , from the dist cap center to the rotor then out to the plugs, this all happen pervided the timing belt or timing chain is ok. the cumbustion chainber needs 3 things , thats fuel, air, and spark.

1990 K5 Blazer DIED(Electrical?)?

There may be no injector pulse if the computor does not see a RPM signal.
There will be no spark if the ignition module does not see a dist pulse from the dist pickup.......a RPM signal.
Because you do not have both ......I would suggest to check/change the dist pick up.
Follow the wires from the ignition module inside the dist to the pickup which is also inside the dist.
If it is just a bad dist pickup....keep all your old parts as good spares.
Also...is the dist turning? to provide a RPM signal?
You will have to remove the dist to change the pick-up.....mark your timing locations......"rotor position" and "dist body location"before removal.
A quick test before installing the "repaired dist" .....plug it in the the truck wiring and turn on the key....DO NOT CRANK THE ENGINE OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR DIST ROTOR CORRECT POSITION......as you spin the dist by hand .....the injectors should spray.

My 92 automatic 1.8l subie wagon new dist coil wires plugs cap rotor starter. alt is newer still no spark but rotor is turning drove home turned off car did not start again did this the first time and...

try and use the factory recomended coil, incorrect coil can heat up and than not acheive the required discharge to fire the plugs. also will lead to the coil failing, or ECM faulting and throwing a Check Engine Light.

Cranks but will not start.

Ignition coil or distributor cap. Not knowing the Avenger I couldn't tell you where to find either but follow the HT leads from your plugs and you should find them. If you aren't getting a spark on any plug then the perp is your ignition coil and it'll need replacing, if you're getting a spark on some then it's the dist cap, check the contacts and give them a clean and see what happens. F.Y.I. the dist cap is the first thing back up the line from your plugs with all the HT leads going in, and the ignition coil is after the dist cap.

Ignition switch on my 1987 Saab 900i

You may need to remove the ignition housing assembly to find out whats wrong inside. There are a series of small gears which connect the ignition barrel to the ignition switch & also operate the reverse gear lock mechanism. You'll need a special 3 pronged tool to remove the assembly - available from SAAB dealers.
