It could be the brake flexible hose going from your caliper to the frame of the car. I had one go bad and the break was slow to apply and slow to release while driving.

SOURCE: Rubbing or grinding noise coming from Driver side rear tire/wheel

I had the same problem that based on interner research is common for Fords trcuks/suvs. The common problem fro rear humming "rubbing"sound might be the rear wheel bearings/seal. These will need to be replaced as it will progressivly get worse and the noise louder and eventually the bearings can sieze. I would hesitate to take to a ford dealer if I were you as it can run $500-900. Take to mechanic that knows how to replace wheel bearings and seals. My mechanic replaced them for about $150. and the bearing and seals are around $40. A good way to test this is to raise the wheel were you can freely spin by hand...if does not spin or there is a lot of friction then it might be the wheel bearings.
Good Luck

SOURCE: Front Passenger brakes rubbing

Dis brakes have residual pressure thar keeps the pads in constant contact with the roter. It is very light contact, so not to worry. If left is not in contact with rotor then chk it for loose wheel bearings.

SOURCE: how to check rear diff

sound like your limited slip clutch in the differental is worn, normally you shouldn't be able without alot of force to turn one of the tires.... inspect the clutches or replace the fluid and retest....simple way to check the rear bearings is to remove the axle and spin the wheel and listen....GL

I would recommend looking at a couple of things.Take a look at the dust plate to be sure its not rubbing the rotor.Second make sure that your calipers aren't getting stuck in the out position. It might be beneficial to lube the caliper pistons to allow for free movement. If you have a floating caliper system then also lube the slide pins. And lastly make sure that everything as far as attaching hardware is tight.

What tools are needed to change the brakes

if the front are rotors there are two bolts that need to be taken off first.
remove the caliper, then remove the two caliper bracket bolts and remove the rotor
replace the rotor and reinstall the caliper bracket.
pull the caliper sliders and lube them with brake grease.
reinstall caliper sliders and install new pads and caliper
refasten caliper to bracket and your done

if your doing rear disc brakes same as front
if brakes are drum type you will need rear drum brake tools to release the springs and to refasten
the new brake shoes

Smokes by pasanger front tire once in a while

sound like one of your caliper is getting stuck or lock. The seal to the piston probably worn out causing the piston in the caliper not to work properly. The piston in the calipers design to move back and forth to release the pressure off the brake disk. when the piston is lock it cause the brake pad and brake disk to rub causing much friction and heat, long period of braking can cause a fire. getting a rebuilt caliper is much easier to replace than have a mechanic rebuilding the old one. you can check if the calipers is lock up by touch and feel the outer hub of the wheel to see if its hot. if its feel hot and smell hot, replace the caliper.

The parking break does not completely dis enguage. the handle moves freely for about an inch which then i can feel the break line and im assuming thats where its stuck. can you help me?

That is a sign that you need new rear brake pads and/or rotors. Or your caliper holders/sliders are not moving out and back in correctly. Don't adjust the cable on the lever, when you get new rear pads and clean/re-lube your moving brake parts back there the cable will be tight again.

Removing front brake calipers to chage brake pads and rotors

remove the BOTTOM 15mm caliper bolt lift the caliper up and slide off
then remover the 2 15mm bolts holding the caliper housing on
remove the brake rotor (you may have to hit it with a hamer to break it free
depending on the brake pads you got some come with new sliders
remove the sliders clean the rust build up then install new sliders
lube the sliders install the pads
install new rotor
install the caliper housing with the 2 15mm bolts
install the caliper and lube both caliper pins with silicone lube
install wheels
PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL TILL IT GETS HARD WITHOUT ENGINE RUNNING

Hot smelly front brake area

Either the sliders on your calipers need lubricated, because of the salt air, or the brake hoses themselves are bad. I'm leaning towards the sliders needing lubed up. Your mechanic is in it for the money! He/she figures if they have to remove the calipers to lube them up, might as well sell you new ones, and make a little more money doing it. Ask someone you trust to lube them up for you. You'll see. I was a mechanic for 20 years, I know how they work. But just to be fair to him/her, I guessss they could of went bad on you, maybe, kinda, sorta.....I wish that everything works out in your favor. Take care and best wishes.

1990 chev 1/2 ton two wheel drive, left front brake sticking, sometimes, now pulls to right when brakes applied. took off left caliber and sprayed with brake cleaner and that seemed to help. but still not...

The Quickest way to fix this is to Replace that Caliper. If you don't have the Dough right Now----Take the Caliper off, and Compress the Cylinder Back into the Caliper While Turning the Bleeder Valve Slowly, When no more Brake fluid Comes out of the Bleeder Valve Tighten Back and Reinstall the Caliper and Pump the Brake Pedal to ReSeat the Cylinder. Sometimes this works on the Chevy Trucks!

Brakes

Sounds like the caliper mounting bolts are tightened all the way down causing movement when the brakes are applied. Simply remove the tires and check the 2 mounting bolts that mount the caliper to the bracket.
