I hate to say this but... the most likely problem (statistically) is ATF. Do you check it while running and warmed up on a level surface? [Get some Mercon!] Secondly, you may have a shift Solenoid problem. Let me know if you need the pin numbers for resistance checks.

TRANSMISSION GOES INTO GEAR (REVERSE AND DRIVE) BUT WILL NOT MOVE. 2004 SUZUKI VERONA

auto trans.101
1: check levels by the book, not like engine. RTM
2: check fuses.
3: scan it, or get it scanned. for transmission errors.
if car wont move and RPM goes high as foot presses guess
that is trans slip.
of RPM (engine) does not rise or only tiny,
that is lost engine power, total loss. but idle. (can happen)

Why will it not go into 5 gear,It will go in 1 thru 4 but when you let out on clutch, truck won move, it goes dead. Truck will roll in neutral ........ Thanks for any Help

Are you sure that you are selecting FIFTH or are you selecting REVERSE? A "smart" car will kill the engine if you shift into REVERSE while moving forward, to prevent you from breaking the transmission.

My automatic car wont move. I can put it in drive or reverse, but it doesn't move.

Failure of the Auto clutch or a fault in the transmission box. In both the cases the gear box/trans mission must be checked.
Check the activation of the gear stick to ensure that the requested action is seen on the box or is a failure of the link or electrics.

Hi, I own a 1997 Ford E 350 Econoline, I have the following transmission engagement problem: Truck will not start: Transmission will not engage any gear, neutral or park. The shift lever feels like is not...

The weld on the manual lever is known to break loose. First, with the wheels off the ground, with the lever in the park position, does the drive shaft lock in park? If yes or no sometimes, drop the trans pan. I bet the nut on the lever camd loose.

Turbo 350 trans no forward gears but does have reverse

It's either your servo, or your bands.
Either way, the tranny needs a good cheap shop repair.
I'd just get a warrantied salvage yard tranny if I were you and save a few hundred bucks.

Transmission

Check your rear emergency brakes. A brake shoe pin could have broke and the shoe locks up in 1 direction. but not the other. The other problem you mentioned could happen, but if it is in reverse the trans shifted.

Transmission will not shift into 1st gear or reverse

check you shift silinoids, there located inside trans mission pan on back of valve body. there are 2 of them.swap them with each other,if you have 1st &reverse then you know its one of the siliniods. if it makes no difference then you need to have your trans rebiut or get a new one.
