I just bought a Jaguar S Type 2.7 Diesel Sport 54 plate. It has a phone holder fitted, but I never got a CODE to get my bluetooth phone to connect to the system (which has sat nav touch screen).
Also, I noticed that the small rubber breather tube that is in the boot from battery is broken off from the end of the battery... Is this safe to ignore! It has a little hole from the battery at top for air?

If you disconnect the sensor and check your error code you will be able to tell which is which (if you get a new code its the wrong bank). It may pay to check your spark plugs in the bank concered, if the resistance of plug(s) go high this will also cause this fault
If your car has the Bluetooth phone option fitted (most models with the touch screen 2006 onwards do) You may get the message SIG instead of Phone connected.
I do not have my manual in front of me, but certain VIN numbers do not have the bluetooth installed in the car. I have a 2003 Jaguar X-Type and I have a phone button, but my VIN number was not in the range of jaguars that came equipped with the bluetooth. You can get a phone that has bluetooth and test to see if it finds a bluetooth device (your Car Phone Device).
Have you contacted jaguar to be sure the car is wired?
Just because there is a phone symbol on the stereo means nothing.
They all have that.
Go to Jaguars web site and email them with you cars VIN number and ask if the car has been prewired.
they will get back to you in about in 2 days and let you know.
If it has been prewired you can get it set up for a price, if not, you are out of luck.
Hi I have the same problem on my 07 plate 2.2 litre diesel x type - oli seal needs to be replaced behind timing cover - the part is cheap at about 16 pound but the labour is horrendous at around 450 because of the need to dismantle so much to get the cover off...
When I went to the Jaguar dealership the dealer (Farmingtonhills of Michigan Jaguar dealership)told me that only either 2005 or it was 2006 and better are the only autos with this function. I have a 2004 and I wanted to do the same thing. There might be another solution that I did not think of untill I left, asking them if it possible to install a bluetooth package. This might be possible, but for those of us that have a 2005 and lower model they did not come with this feature.
OK - If you are getting the SIG instead of Phone connected in the X Type - You need to enter the code - for the 2007 X Type, the Code is ##3#*# - Which should then say waiting and finally SIG ****** which means it is connectable - To pair your phone, goto bluetooth and pair device, wait until the Jaguar is found. When prompted for the numerical code it is 1313
