Radio Antenna Adapter for Sirius radio add-on

Just got a Sirius radio for Father's Day and since the wireless antenna setup doesn't work well I was sent  the FMDA25 Direct Adapter that will connect my car antenna, Sirius radio, and car radio.  How can I get to the antenna-in on the car radio to install this adapter?

Brought problem to my trusted auto mechanic and he found a simple disconnect/connect where to antenna cable comes into car under front right side under the glove box. It took literally 30 seconds to do.

On my newly installed car Radio the reception fades in and out while driving. New harness and new antenna adapter and regrounded unit. Any possible solutions.

One way or another, you have a poor connection from the radio to the antenna. Check the following and make sure all cables are clean and completely and properly inserted:
- a poor antenna cable connection to the adapter or from the adapter to the radio
- a faulty adapter
- a damaged antenna cable connector (wire in center pin)
- a damaged socket on the radio

No sound on AM/FM but Sirius is fine

I would look at the antenna connections ... you will need to remove the unit from the dash to get to the back of the radio. [Google removal of that specific radio for your vehicle]. You may be able to get your hand up under some dash boards to reach the back of radio?

The antenna conception is typically a round coax conductor that goes to a plug into the back of the radio.

Try moving the plug around while radio is on ... if you get signal pull out connector and clean contacts with rubbing alcohol. Test again and reinstall.

Hope this helps!

AM radio quit working but FM okay

bad radio. FM is harder than AM
but do try , 1 thing
remove the antenna plug from radio jack.
then add a 3foot long insulated wire, any wire
to the inside center jack pin, forming a temporary antenna.
no AM now? , then bad radio.
good now?, your antenna is bad.

My daughter has a 98 olds 88 i removed the stock stereo and put in a pioneer cd player but i didnt see any wire on the stereo side for the elec. antenna i was wondering how i can wire it to work

Most aftermarket pioneer cd/radio decks have the electrical connector for the antenna that I've seen.

Is this a cd only deck, or does it have radio functions?

Did you use a new harness wiring adapter to get the pioneer radio to work with the old harness?
There should be a color coded set of wires for the power antenna on that. And, then the Pioneer radio should have wires that were labeled for the power antenna.

Where is the antenna conection jack.

There has to be a lead on radio unless it is totally wireless. Either with a plugin or electrical junction. trace down antenna wire to backside of radio it is there or remote via wire

2003 santa fe radio not working

if you are getting static, you need to replace the antenna. you can also add an antenna booster.... but chech the connection of the antenna inside the radio to make sure it is still connected.... if you have the origional radio for the car connect that back up and plug the antenna in on it and see if you get the tunes, if you do then it is a wire problem in the new radio with the antenna wire itself....hope this helps you out

Car radio interference on AM

If the radio still does this with the alternator unhooked, I would try changing the plug wires.

How to hook up the sirius stratus 5 radio in my 2008 rav4?

I have sirius installed in my 2008 RAV4 JBL system.
There is an adapter made by VAIS technologies http://www.vaistech.com/ that is called a soundlink. It comes with instructions for the connection. The Sirius radio is hidden in this installation, and is controlled by your JBL system. The antenna runs up the side of the windshield (hidden behind the plastic moulding) and mounts to the top right corner of the roof.

HOWEVER- you will not have the full funcionality of the Stratus 5 radio- which has more funtionality that the JBL system can control. Also, the Scrolling feature on the Stratus 5 screen does not work on the JBL display. . . you get the first 15 or so characters, with no scrolling.

I love having an integrated satelite radio in my car, but I do miss the better screen, and the pause feature I had on my sportster (in my old car). Good Luck.
