I've experience irregular problems with my car that does not want to start. Wot shall i do, last weekend i had to call my insurance to tow me in. they mentioned that i'm the 4th caller struggling with the same problem on a Renault Megane. The guy that came to tow me, said it was his 3rd car that he towed could it be a factory problem,..im desperate and need advise. My e-mail adress is [email protected] or 083 976 1008
Car won't stat when clutch is pressed in,but will only start when brake is pressed in.
Hi would anyone know how many wires wna dwhat colout there are on the lambda ssenor on renault meagne dynamique
Possible cause tdc sensor or fault on fule tank pump my megan turned out to be tdc sensor + oxygen sensor clean both and cleaned connections my problem disappeared
1 other possible fault may be the fule pump connector at the tank if you cant here the pump hum sor about 2 seconds when you turn the ignition on then i may be faulty
Hi - I have just taken my megane 1.6 auto and I can tell you there was a problem with the design - and it will need genuine Renault parts to rectify it -crank positon sensor - TDC sensor - the uodated version has to be wired in further along in the harness -but the dealers will never admit to this - so pretend you are in an advert
"Why Did I Buy a Renault"
Have the same problem think have sorted it
It`s the tdc sensor located by the gearbox local garage done took it off cleaned it £20 charge
starts first time now espessally in the mornings
try it worth £20
Your tdc sensor is near your bell hoosing use a mobile phone camera to find it its banana shape with to nuts and for starting problems first time or when cooling down with the renault megane check it has originall renault megane spark plugs and clean the throttle body this should solf the problem this is on 03 to 06 meganes contact me to let me know how you got on on [email protected]
Iv had the crank saft sensor replaced and BINGO! starts 1st time everytime. thanks to everyone who helped
Faulty immobiliser? or maybe a faulty ignition switch or a bad earth somewhere
Hi can someone please help me with the Renault scenic 2003 , will not start after crankshaft pulley change it just will not kick over it wants to but dosn start
I had exactly the same thing on my Renault megan scenic. I spent a fortune trying different things like the immobiliser etc etc. Eventually I went to a small back street garage who immediately said " crank shaft sensor" - he replaced it a year ago and that fault has never happened again ! (Although I wont be buying another Renault as I've had tons of other stuff go wrong since - but not connected with the crank shaft sensor).

Where do I find my oxygen sensor on my 2003 Renault Megane
Hello, I have the same problem with irregular starting on Scenic RX4 . Starts perfect most of the while, then like the others will not start. Turns over correctly just will not start up We have been told its the Top Dead Centre Sensor and it needs cleaning but where is it on the engine please? Please help......
on the megane you will find the tdc sensor bolted with 1 bolt to the front of your gearbox ..once you remove it clean the sensor and twist the 2 terminals slightly to inprove contact
on scenic Can be found in same place if tdc is faulty, dirty, bad contact car will not start or starts intermittedly
its on top of the gearbox, where it meets the engine
