either the motor that locks it is not working or some mice might have chewed some wires or something. first you will want to see if you have power going to the lock under the panel if yuou do then your lock motor is bad and needs replaced if you dont have power you need to check fuses if that still dont work u need to find out where your power stops at

there is nothing under the floor of the pedal will make that terrible squeak sound. have your belt check make sure they are tight and not slipping, it will also make that loud squeak sound if it slips. go to auto parts store and purchase a can of WD40 and spray it on all the pulley under the hood. have the engine off while spraying the pulleys. don't worry if it get on other parts of the engine. Common problems with pulleys squeaking on many vehicle.

I'd get a can of silicone spray and spray hinges, and latch, as well as a light coat on weatherstrip all around the opening, unless it sounds like a mechanical part inside the door.

Hello Jon, those noises can be annoying and sometimes very hard to find. On your Escape inspect the rear window area and see if you can determine if that is the source. I have seen where this has been the cause of a "squeeking" sound as you have described. An adjustment may be needed. Also for problem areas use some silicone spray lubricant, this is a dry spray that lubricates door locks, trunk lids, brake cables, rubber moldings, etc. I hope this helps.
