Oil Filter Operation:
where the oil filter located on 4.4 - 00000_oil_filters.jpgA component, located near the oil pump, that removes abrasive particles from the motor oil by a straining process as the oil circulates through the lubrication system. How To Instructions:
Inspect - Check for obvious problems.
Replace - Out with the old, in with the new.
Check underneath the car on the engine (not the transmission which has the driveshaft(s) inserted into it) It's not in the oil pan, it's located somewhere on the block. Good luck finding the oil filter on your 2005 BMW X5 Check Autozone.com's site. I was having trouble with it, unfortunately, because they were experiencing technical diifficulty with the 'oil filter' section of their site, when I clicked on 'Replace'. Autozone's website didn't have a location for it under the 'location' part of their website.

Can't find oil filter, need location

2.2 ecotec motor?

The oil filter is located under the oil filter cap located on the drivers side front of the motor. Remove the plastic cover that goes over the top of the engine. As your standing in front of the vehicle look down and just to the right of the intake manifold. You will see a black plastic cap about 3" in diameter. It will have what looks like a large bolt head molded into the top of it. Remove that cap and the oil filter will be under it.

Where is the oil filter on the 2007 saturn vue

Hello,

The 2007 saturn VUE FWD 4 uses a cartridge type oil filter instead of the traditional canister.
The location of the oil filter varies, but for your car it is laying horizontally in the front of the engine next to the exhaust manifold.

Take care and good luck

Hello, the oil filter location is on the front of the engine, just below the right side of intake manifold.

  • Use a 32 mm (1 1/4 in) socket on the hex on top of the oil filter cap, or an oil filter wrench on the outside diameter of the oil filter cap.
  • Remove the oil filter cap and filter.
  • Remove the filter from the cap.

    Oil filter location

The V6 has a screw on filter unlike the 4 cylinder which has a cartridge filter. The filter is located in one of 2 positions depending on which V6 you have. On one V6 it is located under the car towards the front where there is a splash guard that is held in place by two thumb screws. Remove the thumb screws take out the splash guard and there it is. On the other V6 it is located under the air tube that comes from the air filter where you will see a nut about the size 3/4 or bigger just unscrew it and change your oil filter.

Where is the oil filter located?

The engine oil filter is located just right of center if standing in front of the car. By removing the LARGE Black cap with the 36mm nut you will expose the filter element, make sure to do this before draining the oil from the drain plug in the pan. Otherwise the filter will still hold oil until loosened a bit. A typical oil change should go like this.
    1. Engine Hot, not running, Loosen filter housing, don't remove yet.
    2. Drain Oil, Replace plug.
    3. Remove and Replace filter and O-Rings
    4. Add oil.
