On the crankshaft:

Timing Lights There are two basic kinds of timing lights--DC powered timing lights, which operate from your vehicle's battery, and AC powered timing lights, which operate on 110 volt house current. Of the two, the DC light is preferable because it produces more light to see the timing marks in bright daylight. Regardless of what kind is used, the light normally connects in series with the No. 1 spark plug using an adapter. Models that are more expensive sometimes use an inductive pickup, which simply clamps around the plug wire and senses firing impulses. Inexpensive models use alligator clips; one clamps onto the connection between the plug and the plug wire, and the others clamp onto the vehicle battery terminals. NOTE: Some timing lights will not work on electronic ignition systems, so unless you still own a vehicle equipped with points, check to make sure the timing light you buy will work. The biggest problem you will probably have when using a timing light is trying to see the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley. Before you time the engine, mark the appropriate timing indicators with fluorescent paint or chalk. Stay out of direct sunlight when you time the engine and buy a timing light with a xenon light, not a neon light. Timing lights that use a xenon tube provide a much brighter flash than those that use a neon tube do. Fig. 1: A modern electronic timing light. Need to get the timeing mark for the ford escort 2001

I'm not real sure on this but I don't believe there is a timing mark. I believe the timing is run off of a magnetic pickup on the flywhell and is nonadjustable.

How do you align timing chain mark on a 2001 grand marquis

You need to lay the timing chain flat on a table you should have one link on each end mark these links then put one on the cam mark and the other on the crank mark then install the guides and tensioner(you must compress the tensioner and lock with a pin if reusing old one)then release tensioner and recheck marks then do the same for the other side.

Set timing 2001 ford escort zx2

Hi, this system does not have a distributor. The timing is computer controlled and is not adjustable. In fact the manufacturer recommends that you do not even check it. most all vehicles that are fairly new have the same thing. hope this helps.

Timming belt replacement Ford 2001 dual cam

You have to leave all of the slack at the tensioner. Get the timing marks lined up on both of the cams and the crank. With the slack left at the tensioner, release the tensioner. It is okay if the marks move a little after this. Manually turn the engine crankshaft twice and then MAKE SURE THE MARKS LINE UP! If they do after two revolutions of the engine, you are good to go. This applies wether or not you are at DTC or not! Remember that!
