The left rear tire keeps wearing on the inside of the tire, I changed the rear strut but the wheel still is not alligned ,How can I alligned the wheel to stop the tire from wearing.2001 ford taurus 3.ol

Things that will tear the tires up in short order. Inner and outer tie rods, ball joints, struts/ upper ball joints( you have upper ball joints) Lower control arm bushings, bent frame, and a bad wheel bearing. Every one of these should have been caught by the alignment shop. If you replace the parts your self. Change them all. You already saved tons by doing it your self. Let me know. Are we talking rear strut assembly with spring there 3 bolts on top in side trunk under carpet befor changing leave tires on unbolt struts raise car up bust lugs lose befor raing car . Under inflation. When the tire doesn't have enough air pressure, the center tends to be pushed up from the road. Thus causing outer wear on both sides. alignment problems cause wear on one side or the other. Over inflation causes the center of the tire to wear .

To check and see if it is a strut problem push down on the rear of the vehicle. the car should only bounce 1 to 2 times once released go from side to side if it bounces more than 2 times that shows a worn strut. You can also jack the vehicle up and check the rear tire for play. if you have play it could be a strut or a trailing arm bushing.

I replaced the rear struts, when removing i discovered one was totally bad, they didn't seem bad from testing and recovered quickly when pushing on the bumper, but were bad. after replacing my rear tire wear is even after 5k miles. mine were wearing from inside to outside too.

It sound like the Camber is off in the rear. Did you have an alignment done after the new struts wear installed?

You need to have a four wheel alignment done. Keep in mind once the tires start to wear like you have they will continue to wear that way even after the align is done.

Had a similar problem with a different car. Rear struts / spings were worn. Caused rear to sag enough to push wheels out and wear out inside portion of tires.

under inflation is the first thing that come to my mind and lack of rotation and possibly shocks or struts that are shot. If your tires are worn down only in the center its usually overinflation.

This sounds like either a wheel bearing a bent axle or an alignment problem, the alignment shop will check all these before they do anthing with the alignment.
