Need to get 98 s10 2.2 to rset passlock . howcan i trick computer withturn signal switch, i seen it done once

No you didn't ! you only think you did . Turn signal switch has nothing to do with it .
Ignition Lock Cylinder and Housing
The ignition lock cylinder is located at the upper right side of the steering column. The Passlockâ„¢ sensor is in the steering column. The Passlockâ„¢ sensor is separate from the key and lock cylinder. The key and the lock cylinder work together in order to determine if the proper ignition key was used to start the vehicle.
In the event of an open Class 2 serial data line between the BCM and the VCM/PCM, the vehicle will become fail-enabled if the VCM/PCM has already received the password from the BCM for that ignition cycle (the engine is running). In this event, the following conditions occur:
• The security telltale will be ON continuously.
• The VCM/PCM will become fail-enabled for future ignition cycles.
If a failure in the Class 2 serial data line occurs before the ignition cycle, when the VCM/PCM is not fail-enabled, the following conditions occur:
• The VCM/PCM will never receive a valid password in order to enable the fuel injectors.
• The vehicle will not start.

The design of the passlockâ„¢ system is to prevent the vehicle operation if the proper ignition key is not used in order to start the vehicle. The mechanical key, in normal operation, will turn the passlockâ„¢ lock cylinder. The passlockâ„¢ sensor will relay the passlockâ„¢ data to the body control module (BCM). The BCM will determine the validity of the passlockâ„¢ data. The BCM will send a code password to the vehicle/powertrain control module (VCM/PCM). When the VCM/PCM receives the correct code the VCM/PCM allows the fuel injectors to operate normally. The passlockâ„¢ system requires the VCM/PCM and the BCM to communicate the various functions in order to operate. These functions transmit over the class 2 serial data line CKT 1807. For an explanation of the class 2 serial data operation refer to Data Link Connector Circuit Description in Wiring Systems.
Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop , there is a real possibility of rendering your vehicle useless if you don't know what your doing

Safelock on 2006 Pontiac Torrent. Randomly prevents starting. Seems to reset after a day or so. Is there a way to disable

It is the passlock system not safelock An you can't just disable it . It is software program into the BCM - body control module an the PCM - powertrain control module .Simply disconnecting the wires from the ignition to the BCM will render your vehicle useless . If an when the security symbol light is on you need to have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . A GM dealer ,Chevy , Buick , Cadillac etc.... we know Pontiac is no longer around. Everything will work except the PCM will not let the fuel injectors work .
Passlock?"¢ System
The theft deterrent system has been incorporated into the body control module (BCM). The theft deterrent system is provided in order to prevent the vehicle operation if the correct key is not used in order to start the vehicle. The ignition key allows the lock cylinder to rotate. The cylinder rotation produces an analog voltage code in the Passlock?"¢ sensor. This voltage code is received by the BCM. The BCM compares the voltage code to the previously learned voltage code. If the codes match, a serial data message is sent from the BCM to the powertrain control module (PCM). The message enables the fuel injector operation.
The design of the Passlock?"¢ system is to prevent vehicle theft by disabling the engine unless the ignition lock cylinder rotates properly by engaging the correct ignition key. The system is similar in concept to the Passkey system. However, the Passlock?"¢ system eliminates the need for any key mounted components. The components of the Passlock?"¢ system are as follows:
?€¢
The ignition lock cylinder

?€¢
The ignition switch

?€¢
The Passlock?"¢ sensor

?€¢
The BCM

?€¢
The security indicator

?€¢
The PCM

Why does the anti-theft light stay on?

There is a problem with the system an there is a DTC - diagnostic trouble code stored in the body control module !
The vehicle theft deterrent system is designed in order to prevent vehicle theft by disabling the fuel injectors unless the lock cylinder is engaged by the correct mechanical key. The theft deterrent system uses the following 4 components for theft prevention:
?€¢
The lock cylinder

?€¢
The ignition switch

?€¢
The body control module (BCM)

?€¢
The powertrain control module (PCM)

When starting the engine, the PCM searches for a password from the BCM through the Class 2 serial data circuit. If the password is not recognized or not present, the PCM will disable the fuel injectors. Two modes of tamper detection are provided:
?€¢
No password received

The engine will start and stall quickly. SECURITY telltale will flash on the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and then stay ON steady.

?€¢
Incorrect or disable password received (More than 3 invalid passwords are received)

The engine is disabled for at least 10 minutes and the SECURITY telltale will illuminate solid on the IPC during the 10 minutes.

After the vehicle has passed theft detection, the PCM will continue normal operation
Ignition Switch
The mechanical key and lock cylinder is located on the steering column. The main electrical switching portion of the assembly is separate from the key and lock cylinder. The VTD portion of the ignition switch is the Passlock?"¢ cylinder.
The Passlock?"¢ lock cylinder is a locking cylinder that turns a magnet past a stationary hall effect sensor. When turned to crank, the hall effect sensor is latched which applies a fixed resistance to the Passlock?"¢ signal data circuit. The voltage measured by the BCM on the Passlock?"¢ signal data circuit is the Passlock?"¢ data value.
Body Control Module (BCM)
The BCM compares the Passlock?"¢ data value to a value that it has stored in memory. If the values match the BCM sends a password via the class 2 serial data line to the PCM.
Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
When the PCM receives the correct password, the PCM enables the fuel injection system, allowing the vehicle to operate correctly. The PCM may allow the car to start and quickly stall during a failed theft condition.
If the BCM does not receive a Passlock?"¢ data value, the BCM will enter a short tamper mode. During this mode, the VTD system will not allow the car to operate for 4 seconds.
If the Passlock?"¢ data value is incorrect, the VTD system will enter the long tamper mode. In the long tamper mode, the following actions will occur:
?€¢
The THEFT SYSTEM indicator will flash.

?€¢
The fuel injectors will be shut off for approximately 10 minutes.

Although the vehicle may start, the engine will quickly stall due to a fuel cut-off.
In the event of an open in the serial data communication between the BCM and the PCM or a failure in the Passlock?"¢ lock cylinder, the following actions occur:
?€¢
The VTD system will become fail-enabled if the car has already passed theft for that ignition cycle (i.e. the engine is running).

?€¢
The PCM or the BCM may set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

?€¢
The THEFT SYSTEM indicator will light continuously.

?€¢
The PCM will become fail-enabled for future ignition cycles.

If a failure occurs when the ignition is off, while the VTD system is not fail-enabled, the PCM will never receive a valid password, and will not allow vehicle operation by disabling the fuel injectors. An this system can set 6 DTC'S

I have an 03 chevy blazer 4 dr. 4x4 sport. It won't start. I checked fuel rail for fuel. I got gas there. I checked for spark. Got that too. I bought a new battery. I THINK it might be the PassLock II...

replacing the barrel or keys will jot solve the problem as you will still have to get them programmed to the immobilizer system
there is a method of bypassing the immobilizer to get it to a service center
I suspect that the problem is in the keys ( flat batteries in the key fob )or the immobilizer needs to be programmed to the keys again
possible a reset of the ECM using a scan tool may help there

Need to disable antitheft on 1997 pontiac grand am 2.4

Very difficult to disable. This car uses a passlock system to enable engine starting. The ignition cylinder sends a signal to the instrument panel which then sends a coded signal to the PCM. It would be much easier to fix the anti theft than to try to disable it.

HOW DO YOU FIX THE ALERO ANTI THEFT PROBLEM IF IT KEEPS COMIING ON

I am assuming the light you are talking about is the "SECURITY" light on the dash. Your Alero is equipped with GM's Passlock system which cuts fuel to your engine if it determines that a source other than the key is trying to start the car.

I found this online, i posted it somewhere else as well and heard it would work...goodluck

PASSLOCK I or II DISABLEMENT
The following is a procedure to disable Passlock I or II Systems for vehicles in which remote start/stop system installations are required. This procedure is required because a remote start system will not function with the current Theft Deterrent System (Passlock) which is included on many 1996 and up GM vehicles.

Please note that this modification is intended to be used only in conjunction with the installation of a remote start/stop system and does not provide a procedure to install a remote start/stop system.

CAUSE
If an attempt is made to start a vehicle by a means other than a key rotation in the ignition switch, the Body Control Module (BCM) will interpret this start as a vehicle theft and disable the fuel injectors.

CORRECTION
A minor wiring modification may be made to allow the vehicle to be started remotely. This modification includes adding a switch to allow the customer to select "ON" to disable Passlock or "OFF" for normal Passlock operation.

CAUTION: When this modification is performed and the switch is set to the ON position, the theft deterrent feature will be disabled. When the theft deterrent is disabled the SECURITY or THEFT telltale will light up indicating that the theft deterrent system is NOT functioning.

PASSLOCK MODIFICATION
Refer to appropriate GM service manuals and/or SVMQP Electrical Guideline Manual for instruction on splicing and electrical connections.
1. Select a suitable on-off switch (see note below) which will be used to disable/enable the Passlock System. Mount the switch in a location such that it is accessible to the driver and will not interfere with normal vehicle operation.
NOTE: This is an extremely low current circuit (approx. 7mA), it is therefore very important that a high quality, low energy, fast acting switch be utilized for this application.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
3. Locate the Main Ignition Switch Harness in the Column. GM's Passlock System wires exit the Ignition Switch Tumbler together and then join with the Main Ignition Switch Harness. (See http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/ or http://64.85.6.118/diagrams/diagrams.asp and select your Make, Model and Year for wire colors and clues on the quickest way to access these wires.)
4. Locate the Yellow Passlock Data Wire which is included in a bundle of three tiny (20 GA) wires wrapped in friction tape.
Cut this wire and splice a 0.5mm2 (20 GA) yellow wire to each end of the cut wire.
Keep wire length to a minimum. Route modification wires clear of moving parts.
Connect the yellow wires to the switch such that the contacts are OPEN when the switch is in the ON position.
5. Turn modification switch to the OFF postion (contacts closed).
6. Start vehicle to verify normal operation. If engine "cranks but will not start" recheck the switch position (contacts should be closed), wire connectors and modification wiring.

SWITCH OPERATION
To enable remote start:
Start the engine with the ignition key (modification switch must be in the OFF position). Turn modification switch to the ON position (contacts open). The SECURITY or THEFT telltale will light up indicating that the Passlock System is inoperative.Once the SECURITY or THEFT telltale has been on for at least 5 seconds the vehicle can be turned off and then remotely started.

To disable remote start:
The Passlock System can be reactivated by turning the modification switch OFF (contacts closed). Vehicle can either be running or off when this is done.

Please note that the VCM/PCM will record Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) related to the security system when the modification switch is in the ON position (circuit open). This is due to the way that the VCM/PCM interprets this condition.

NOTICE
Any condition which removes battery power from the Vehicle Control Module/Powertrain Control Module (VCM/PCM) (e.g. dead battery, disconnected harness connectors, etc.) will prevent the vehicle from being restarted. If the engine exhibits a "cranks but will not start" symptom, place the modification switch in the OFF (contacts closed) position. This will reactivate the Passlock System and allow the vehicle to be started with the ignition key.

Hope helps (remember to rate and comment this).

Security light comes on and car doesn't want to start sometimes.

Disable the passlock system permanently. The other functions will still work just fine. The passlock system for some mystery reason sometimes senses an intrusion even if there is not one and locks down the fuel injectors. Underneath the steering column there is a metal plate held in place with a few bolts. It needs to come out. In order to do so you may have to remove some dash components but it is not as hard as it seems. Once the plate is removed running up the steering column there will be (3) wires bundled or tied together. These are the wires for the passlock system (Yellow + Black - and White neutral) It is the only group of 3 configured like this. START the car and while the car is running snip the YELLOW wire ONLY! and tape off the ends. Put everything back together and live better knowing your car will now start each and every time. The Yellow or Orange security light will stay on permanently but this will not cause any other problems.
