My Isuzu Bighorn 3.1 turbo diesel (1993?, K reg) is having problems with the speedo too. Does anyone have the right pics and/or troubleshooter from a workshop manual that might help me figure out what's wrong? Or any suggestions? Our local garage hasn't got the right software or something - is it likely to be something I can fix myself? We can't find a workshop manual for sale for this model either! Any suggestions? FLUID TYPE: DEXRON 4 OR 6, 6 IS THE BEST AND NEWEST FLUID TYPE AND FAR SUPERIOR TO OLDER TYPE 4. DEXRON 6 PROVIDES MORE POSITIVE SHIFTS AND LONGER TRANSMISSION LIFE.

SOURCE: Speedo stopped working

check wire/wiring connector on right rear section of transfer case.
disconnect wire connector and remove and inspect gear drive for worn teeth including gear inside case.

check gearbox oil level as dry syncro rings can also cause your box to jump out of gear ,detent springs are only for giving u the feel of positive gear engagement.
