What kind of vehicle? If your red check engine light is blinking DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE! the computer has detected a serious fault that will lead to ultimate failure! Pull the code via reader.
The blinking light is telling the driver the problem is serious. You need compression, fuel, and spark at the right time for the cylinders to produce power. I'll assume compression is ok, so that leaves the fuel injector or spark from the coil.
If the "check engine" light illuminates, it
will either blink or remain constant, depending on the problem. Either
way, you
should have the vehicle checked by a
mechanic, although a blinking light or, on some cars, a red light
instead of a yellow/orange
light indicates a problem that needs
immediate attention. In late-model cars, a blinking light usually
indicates an engine
misfire so severe that unburned fuel is being
dumped into the exhaust system, where it can quickly damage the
catalytic converter,
requiring an expensive repair. If that
happens, you should reduce power and have the car or truck looked at as
soon as possible.
If the light is steady, the problem is not an
emergency, but you should schedule an appointment as soon as possible.
Check codes stored with this procedure... turn key at on/off on/off on position (dont start engine) and read the odometer codes some number as Pxxxx code, note this and send us the information to give additional tips.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your

Well, that's the check engine light I think. It is saying something is not normal. You can read out a trouble code to give you an idea of why it is on. Turn the ignition on, but engine stopped, and with a piece of wire bridge terminals TE1 and E1 in the service terminal box, at one rear corner of the engine compartment.
The check engine light will then blink. A steady blink 4 times per sec is "all normal".
Trouble codes are 2 digits, and these will be blinked - first digit - pause - second digit - repreat.
So the oxygen sensor fail code (a common one) is 21, and will show 2 blinks - pause - 1 blink - repeat.
Hi Tony: When the Check Engine Light is flashing ON it means that the computer has
detected a misfire in the engine. It is not good to drive a vehicle that
has a flashing check engine light; one or more sensor in your vehicle is
advise about an code fault. I suggest scanning for know what code is in
there and solve it.
In some vehicles, a red check-engine light means the car
needs absolute immediate attention while a yellow check-engine light
means you need to make an appointment soon. The light is used to indicate PCM (Powertrain Control Module) problems
that are associated with your vehicle's emissions system.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate
your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about
this answer.
That's a check engine light, the engine on your car has several sensors installed on different parts of engine and drivetrain, any time any of them senses a problem that red engine light come on on the dash, the way to know what's the problem is to take it to an auto place or buy an OBD ( On Board Diagnostic) tool and connect it to the connector located underneath the dashboard, the scanner will get the code and by looking up that code you'll find out what part of the car has problem.
You can continue using your car and some times these problems are not very major ( emissions control related) but if that light starts blinking that's the time you should seriously consider having a look at it.
Hope I could help you and please rate the answer if it was helpful, it effects my general rating, thanks very much!
There is a diagnostic box under the hood on the passenger side. Its small and it has diagnostics written on the lid. Open the lid and look at the bottom of the lid. Find the two junctions that are labled Tc and E1. Add a jumper wire in between the two ports and look at the check engine light. Count how many times it blinks. Example, in order to get a code 31 the light will blink three times, short pause and then blink once. there will be a little bit longer of a pause between codes and a very long pause after all codes are done. Then you have your codes to try to find out what the problem is. After that you can go to the fuse box under the hood and locate the EFI fuse. Remove the fuse for about 30 seconds and install it back in. This will eliminate the check engine light.
Could be a wiring issue if you already replaced the speed sensor. I believe there are 2 speed sensors on that tranny though, and both are usaully replaced at the same time.
im a honda mech. if they had any sense they would call honda tech line and try to figure thi problem out i would replace thr trans again or have the connectors check if the tech lowered the trans with the wiring still connected he probably pulled some wires out of some of the connectors
