1991 Toyota pick-up while driving began to smell wires burning. When stopped could smell strongly on the passenger side under the hood. Did not see any wires burned, but the gauges on the inside stopped working. Oil, battery, & tacometer.

Look under the dash on the passenger side and under the hood more closely for burnt wires to the computer. If the computer has burnt wires to the instrument panel, then you found the problem.

Burnt smell after starting 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. Turned key starter turned over slowly then started drove car however strong electrical burning smell after starting pulled over seen smoke coming from under vehicle. Car wouldn't start even with a jump starter just clicking sound then nothing while horrible smell of burnt electrical from under the hood. Towed it home it just clicked once. Lights, horn, flashers dash and power locks all working fine never had any problems. Thoughts starter or ??
it can be an intermittant power relay under the hood,an intermittant low pressure switch on the receiver can under the hood on the passenger side of the engine compartment,when it stops,wiggle any and all wiring associated with the system be it under the hood or behind the dash as it also can be an intermittant connection
It sounds like differential lube. gear lube.A little bit go's a long way.check the seals pinon and axles.the cover on the differential look at the vent too.also gear lube on brakes it's not good.some times you have to pull tires off to see the oil.
sounds like conveter is starting to plug and is geting hot rain was coling it off after your car is running for 15 min or so slowley put hand by tail pipe and feel vapers coming out of pipe be careful it may be real hot if it is you have a bad conveter vapers should be just worme coming out not hot
On a 4 cyl., under hood, mounted on lower center passenger side of engine.
On a 6 cyl., under vehicle, passenger side, below seating area, passenger side of transmission,mounted on frame.
