1998 intrepid check engine light

I have a 1998 intrepid with a check engine light on there two codes that came up 1494 and 1684 can you help me with this problem ?

    My check engine light stays on all the time. The car runs smooth, the transmission changes smooth and the oil level is good and I just changed the oil in both the transmission and the engine. Any suggestions?.

1484 The catalyst seems to be overheating!
1684 The battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts.

from what i have researched the 1684 is a common code that these vehicles give out..i even got one when i checked mine and i had never disconnected the battery before..so i wouldn't pay to much attention to that one...now the other code is a different story

open and close the ignition switch 3 times ending at an open switch check engine light should flash long flashes are tenths and short flashes are units example two long flashes and three short flashes is code 23.

My 1998 Dodge Intrepid is starting & then stalling only after a few seconds. The engine light came on, & the code was P1391. Any ideas?
That code is indicating an intermittant crank shaft or cam shaft sensor fault. Because the engine is starting then stalling, check to see if you have spark after the stall. If spark is still present, you are probobley looking at a cam sensor circuit issue. The cam sensor controls the fuel injector pulse. If the cam sensor fails on a chrysler product, the fuel injectors will not function.

Check engine light is on
unhook and rehookup the battery this will reset the computer if the light comes on again you should take it to an auto parts store to determine what code it is displaying to narrow the problem down good luck

1998 dodge intrepid battery light and heck engine light on. only 10 volts coming out of alternator. changed alternator, battery and pcm module. still has lights.
I have a 2000 dodge intrepid- the battery light was coming on and off for a few days and then the car just died. We checked and replaced the alternator and the car started right up (we did charge the battery for an hour before starting the car) but when you take the charger off the battery the car slowly dies. Please help?

1998 Intrepid random misfire
I have a 98 dodge intrepid with a 2.7. My car would run fine at times and then all of a sudden start to miss badly and the valves would rattle. The mechanic changed the cam shaft sensor and now it runs very well.
