2000 nissan frontier 6cyl 3.3l will not start. pretty sure it is either the crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensor. since the truck wont start and I dont have an obd scanner I can't narrow it down between those two parts. I bought a CKPS since it was only 20$ but I can not locate where the sensor is.... does anyone know where it is? Also, is it true if its the CMPS, i would need to replace the whole distributor? Which sensor is more likely to fail and cause it not to start?

SOURCE: truck burns alot of fuel, hesitates all the time

If you have that code the distributor isn't set right. I don't suppose you have access to a scanner? That is the only way to get it set right.

SOURCE: 2000 Nissan Sentra Crankshaft Position and Replacement

Go to dealership they will give a diagram to locate every single one. I replace them on my daughter car. I believe there were three sensors. I exactly know what you are talking about. I had a hard time locating the back one right above the drive shaft on driver side.

SOURCE: crankshaft and camshaft sensors location in nissan altima 2003

You are incorrect sir. There is a very good Youtube video showing you exactly where it is that is how I changed mine. The Crankshaft is located behind the engine block below and around from the cam sensor which is easly spotted looking at the engine. The crankshaft is in a difficult spot but once you figure out where it is it's easy...ish hope this helps

I have a 2000 Nissan frontier with a v6 I have crank. Position sensor code I changed the sensor but I still have the code

There is a crank and a camshaft position sensor. If you have verified both are working or replaced, pull negative battery cable for 2 hours or overnight. This should reset error codes.

My 2000 Nissan Frontier has sputtering problems and the tac goes crazy. changed the fuel pump, sending unit, spark plugs, cap & rotor. what could be wrong?

your tach is run by the engine computer, possible cause. also by the crankshaft position sensor, most likely cause, I would start there. some sensors will run within perimeters and be bad enough to cause a lot of problems

Crankshaft Position Sensor Error P0335 recurred after r&r

In the kit there are two sensor that look identical. The one for the crankshaft has a white paint mark on it near the bolt hole. Make sure that it is in the right location.
