I have a 1996 Chevrolet Pickup 1500 series with a 4.3 liter V6. It will not idle and runs rough. I changed the injector system, thecontrol module and pickup module. This did not help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Robert, have vehicle scanned for diagnostic codes. Check for vacuum leaks and if you have not done recently give vehicle a complete tune up cap,rottor,wires,plugs,filter's,etc, including injector/throttle body cleaning. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

vacuum leak any where,mass air flow censer bad?

Run some injector cleaner through the system.

Note this information, about Dodge RAM 1500 have 3.9 engine... 1996 Dodge 1500 Pickup 3.9 liter V-6 VIN "X"

ROUGH IDLING CAN BE CAUSE BY MANY THINGS.I AM LOOKING AT LEAKING VACUUM HOSES OR INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET LEAK.DIRTY FUEL INJECTORS AND WORN ENGINE VALVES WILL CAUSE ROUGH IDLING.ALSO LOW IDLE SPEED CAUSE ENGINE TO RUN ROUGH.

Bad injectors causing the vehicle to run poorly can cause other damages to sensors etc. Buy a code reader and check the codes.

You didn't mention the engine, so here are all options...

4.3 liter V-6 VIN "W" With Enhanced Ignition System


1996 Chevrolet C 1500 P/U 2WD
5.0 liter V-8 VIN "M OR
1996 Chevrolet C 1500 P/U 2WD
5.7 liter V-8 VIN "R "

Barring any mechanical issues you most likely have a failed injector.

You could have a burnt valve, do a compression chk. Do you know what the code means? How many mi. on truck? Did this just come on or has it been doing this for a while?

check pressure plate.
