If you can start vehicle at starter motor it can be two things you may be losing switching power from ignition switch or if it is a automatic trans it could be your inhibitor switch you can bypass the switch to test if the switch is at fault ./regards agwbk

    THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE OVERHEATING, SMOKE, AND POSSIBLY FIRE IN THE STEERING COLUMN AREA OF THE VEHICLE.


    Remedy:
    DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH.

    THREADED INFLATOR COMPONENTS MAY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED DURING ASSEMBLY WHICH MAY ALLOW COMPONENTS TO SEPARATE WHEN INFLATOR RECEIVES A SIGNAL TO DEPLOY THE AIR BAG.


    Defect Consequence:
    INFLATOR COMPONENT SEPARATION ALLOWS HOT COMBUSTION GASES TO ESCAPE INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WHICH COULD RESULT IN INJURIES TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS.


    Remedy:
    REPLACE AIR BAG MODULES CONTAINING POTENTIALLY DEFECTIVE INFLATORS.

Some fault at the ignition switch , should be no battery voltage at that cable till ignition switch turned to start position , replace the switch or you could fit a button switch between ignition switch and solenoid wire .

Fan relay can't find relay on 90 ford tempo. Changed thermostat already. Radiator fan just quit working. Can't find location of fuse box for fan either. Can you post a picture of location? Thanks
i always hook the fan to ignition so when key is on so is fan keeps motor running cooler . the temp switch is easy to locate just follow wires but I always just run it to ignition

The Power Block normally has a black plastic cover and is located under the hood.....Look in ft of the master cylinder area....It is not on the engine...It should have a name on the cover....some do
...just look you will see it ...also on passenger side check for power block box . metalpoet

Why wont Car Start When I Trun the key ? It has a New starter.The lights come on the Car will Just not crank!
You will need to replace the starter selenoid most likely as that is what sends power to the starter for it to crank and start.

Fuel filter
For 1990 Ford Tempo 2.3L FI 4cyl the Fuel Filter is located under hood, passenger side, front engine area, side of strut tower, mounted in fuel line assembly.

change your selenoid on the passenger side fender under the hood. you can test it by useing a screwdriver to arc the terminals and if it starts but wont with the key then you know it is bad.
