Its located to the left of the fuse panel kinda hidden, should be silver and it removes just like a fuse tug stright back till it pops out just look at the way the prongs came out so its easy to install the new one...

Why does 2000 impala turn signals stop working?

I am told it is a relay in emergency flasher circuit.

The quick fix is to activate emergency flashers just for a few cylcles , a minute or two after car has been running. The directionals will work fine for the duration of that ride.

I have heard of peolple remvoving trim to get at switch, cleaning contacts and components of switch, but symptom eventually re-appeared. Cycling through e-flashers a few times works every time for me. - Rick Rock

Can a turn signel work for about 15 seconds and then stop? or could it be the relay?

the flasher unit is probably worn out.there is a bi-metalic metal strip that gets tired and won`t expand and contract making the clicking noise you hear when the signals are in use.it stops expanding and contracting causing the flashers to stop working.change the flasher unit but make sure you changing the one for the signal flasher and not the hazards flasher as they look the same.to know which one turn on the hazards and look for the other flasher that is not making a noise as this will be the one for the signals.

I have a 95 F-250 Powerstroke and the turn signals have stopped working however the 4-ways still work, is it possible the flasher has gone bad even though the 4-ways still work?

some flasher relays have the hazards and flashers built in one relay.I would recommend changing the flasher relay.I have come across this problem many times

Hazards and flashers aren't working

When you turn on hazards and flashers, do the lights at least come on. First check fuses be sure that they are good. Then check for the flasher relay. The flasher relay will usually be near the driver kick panel. I believe in this vehicle it will be a three prong relay. Good Luck.

NO TURN SIGNALS-BUT FLASHERS WORK

PROBLEM WAS FLASHER SWITCH WHICH HOUSES RELAY FOR TURN SIGNALS AND FLASHER UNIT--IT IS SOLID STATE AND WORKS WHEN YOU TAP ON IT--ORDERED ONE--IT SOUNDED LIKE A DIFFERENT RELAY BECAUSE SWITCH IS ABOUT 6 INCHES LONG AND EXTENDS BEHIND RADIO/CD/TAPE PLAYER--WHICH IS EASILY REMOVED (PUSH ON 2 SIDE TABS AND THEY POP OUT-GRAB THEM AND PULL ASSEMBLY OUT--PUSH RELAY OUT FROM BEHIND TOWARDS YOU--UNHOOK AND REPLACE--A 5 MIN REPAIR
GOOD LUCK
