I have pulld several subby trans and the most common problem seen is dowel pins frozen into alluminum on both sides of bell housing---usally get apart by drivng pins inward towards front of car/ about half way .

I had the same problem, there was a clutch fork still connected that was catching on the pressure plate. Once that was removed, the transmission pulled away just fine.

To add more detail, the clutch fork pin should be removed first so you can pull the fork out. Your transmission is more than likely getting stuck on the throw out bearing.

What year manual transmission fits to a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX?

Pretty much any "EJ" transmission will fit any "EJ" engine, the only problems are whether the clutch is a pull or push type release bearing? That will also make a difference how the clutch slave cylinder mounts up. If it isn't a turbo model trans, it will not take the HP that the engine puts out for very long. The Impreza STI manual trans will bolt up, but there will be some exhaust fitment issues where the down pipe bracket connects to the trans.

I had engine work done and a new clutch installed on my 2002 WRX. About a month after taking the car out of repair, my transmission got stuck in 2nd gear while I was driving. I heard a loud noise and it...

If the car worked properly before( I assume it did ) then any problem that has occured since the garage worked on the vehicle HAS to rectfied by the garage NO IF'S AND NO BUT'S.... if they dont then seek professional legal advice,,, it just seems a bit wierd that the problems are located in the very area in which the garage were working. MMMMmmmmmmm?????????

Ive got a 95 subaru wrx single turbo has been going ok bit doesent idle perfict and now when we get up in the revs say anywere over 2 to 2 and a half thousand it just runs like a bag of **** please help

The most common cause is due to a proper tune up.Plugs, wires, gas filter, air filter and if all is well on that aspect of the engine I would change the EGR valve due to fuel mixture and advance control due to turbo.........Hope this helps you out.

Got subaru impreza wrx turbo 1993 , fith gear keeps popping out and grinds as it goes into fith

Time to look around in junkyards or ebay for a similar transmission with much lower mileage, or google around and see if you can exchange that tranny for a rebuilt one.

My 2008 WRX has 22K. The clutch peddle started

Subaru makes/sells a good product. Too bad you've had issues with the clutch in/of your WRX. Since you have 25 years of experience driving manual transmission car(s) you should understand that the problem can not be pinpointed without taking the component apart. Your vehicle is under the manufacturer warranty so Subaru should repair/replace the defective clutch. After the WRX is fixored sell it and buy another VW......Peace

Need to change clutch on a subaru WRX 2-1994 model

no it does not, the wrx has its throw out bearing attached to a shaft that needs to be removed before you seperate the trans from the engine. you will see a access plug on the drivers side just below the starter, remove the plug with a 10mm hex to gain access the shaft, install a 6 mm by 1.0 bolt into the threaed portion of the shaft and slide it out,the throw out bearing is attached to the pressure plate with a large cir clip, make sure the throw out and shaft are reinstalled on the trans before it is installed, when it is, push fork while standing in front of the car to attach the the throw out bearing to the pressure plate, good luck!

02 impreza wrx problem with turbo PLEASE HELP

This is not the turbo it is the over-powering the clutch, it happens in 5th because that is when most worn clutches slip, it is the biggest load, replace your clutch.
