Re: Sir, i have a problem with my hyundai accent. I see ...
The problem could be caused be leaking High Tension cables from the ignition coils to the spark plugs.
- To confirm where the spark is shorting, take the vehicle to a shady or darkened area, open the bonnet and look to see the actual place.
- The problem could be at the joint between the coil and the spark plug high tension cable.
- It could be along the length of the leads.
- Alternatively it could be caused by a defective plug which is failing to fire correctly.
- If resistance has built up in any of these area's, or the spark plug cable is carbonized or cracked along its length it will short, taking the shortest distance to return from where it came: ie, the battery.Electricity will always take the line of least resistance.
- The best way of dealing with a problem with the leads or plugs is to replace them.
- While you're under the bonnet, make sure that the cable connecting the engine to the body is not broken and that the connection is intact and not oxidized.
