I just bought a JDM 1994 honda civic with a D15b6 engine and stock carburator in it. I rebuild it just now. The thing is that the carb keeps "studdering" in idle. It doesn't turn off but it seems like it will. more info is that there are some small hoses around it that (ever since i got the car) are not connected to anything. thanks! Ivan

SOURCE: I need the firing order

I found an illustration for an 87 Civic 1.5L engine, carbureted. By the looks of it, it's 1-3-4-2 although this graphic shows a round cap. I see the Accord 2.0L does have the plugs in a line, not in a circle. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: carburator rebuild

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Almost always, the solution is to pullout again the carbs and redo. Some ideas to consider:

  • overflow is always caused by the needle valve not closing the inlet seat;
  • too rich mixture could be caused by wrong air/fuel mixture adjustment;
  • you may also want to check how the carbs are fitted to the coupling to the engine intake as well as how the air cleaner enclosure/box fits over the carbs.
The above are just for starters. Post back result(s) or updates on any developments.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Carb removal from 1994 VF750C Honda Magna

You should probably get a service manual.
As I recall: Remove seat, gas tank, side covers and brackets, and plastic things in front corners of frame. Take off rubber intake thingy and slide out air filter cover toward the left side (it's a ***** because of the flap in front). Loosen metal intake housing plate, rotate and remove intake horns being careful not to bend the horns or drop screws down carb throats. Slide plate out.
All four carbs come off as one assembly. There are four rubber tubes connecting it to the engine. Loosen the hose clamps on the tubes and gently pry the carb assembly up. Find safe points on the carbs to pry where you won't break anything, and be gentle. If it hasn't come off before it will take some going from corner to corner till it comes out of the rubber tubes.
You can clean the jets without disassembling the "quad pack".
I put a little oil on the tubes to reassemble. Getting the horns back in is a bit tricky. The plate goes on loose, then they slide into the carbs and rotate as I recall. Good luck

SOURCE: 1994 honda civic 1.5 16v stalling after pressing accelerator from idle

Another place to look is your IAC, or Idle air control valve. It is bolted to the back of the intake manifold, and can be removed and cleaned. It is usually the cause of most Honda Idle problems.

HOW MUCH IS THE CARBURATOR OF TOYOTA 1995 MODEL

stock or not stock
if stock why ask this here, with no country , we can shop at your stores here, if no in uSA. (as we are) this is a Calif forum. so.....
how much money, or how much work, or ? what?
you can kit it, nobody sells new relic stock carbs.
our 95s are not Carb, so , are you not confusing TBI- EFI from carb as many do?

if wanting to use an aftermarket carb the steps for a weber are near
infinity, and a harely CV carb tiny.
so, nobody on earth is going to tell you how to dyno tune a carb hear. or with wide band add on oxy meter, as i do.

did you call toyota and ask?
or look for a carb kit then ask your mech to service yours with the kit.
that be best way. KIT IT.

Where can I find an engine layout for Honda civic lx 1994 model for viewing only.

There are no exploded views of these motors on line. but you can get a Haynes manual for like $30 USD. that will give you a comprehensive tear down and rebuild for that motor.

My honda civic manual carburator is not properly working. it won't start if you will not step on the gas. what should be the problem? idling is also not balance.

check your fuel filter. and your pump. be sure to give the carb a good bath with crab cleaner to rule out clogged hoses or plugs

Civic '92 engine normal starts then stalls after 2 mins

Ihave the same experience try to remove the idle jet located next to the starting jet. But be careful in removing it as it will break easily ( you will need a flat screwdiver to do it ) clean it with a wire that closest size of the jet. change your fuel filter ang drain all the fuel inside before putting it back. make sure to put some air pressure on each holes on the carb so it flush all unwanted particles inside and pls dont use silicone in sealing the rubbers inside.

95 civic wont start

An engine needs 3 things to run: Fuel, compression, ignition.

Maybe the timing belt went out. Take off the dist cap and see if the rotor turns as you crank the engine.

Next run a compression test on all the cylinders.
