I had the same problem with my 2009 RAV4 lower glove box. I removed the box by popping the top front right post and then the top left front post from theside housings by prying them free with my fingers. They pop out easily. I then let the box fall open and while holding it level to the floor, pulled forward, released the piston from the post on the right, and the glove compartment came out without tools. There was a plastic electrical box cover, which came loose behind the glove box, blocking it from closing. I snapped the cover plate back in place and then reversed the glove box removal process. It took a few minutes and I needed no tools.

2014 dodge avenger something must have fallen behind glovebox when I opened it so now it won't close - only goes half way. How do I remove it?

Do this, open the glove box now look at the rubber looking things the door is resting on, they look like a knob push one then the other in other words bend the plastic until the knobs clear the stops and the door will fall all the way open and you can clean it out. I hope this helps. Take care.

Dead mouse smell and nest in dashboard how to find it?

I've seen this before. Mice. if small enough enter from the outside into the air intake and get into the fan and motor. The least fix is to remove the fan and motor assy. the worst is you will have to have a qualified technician remove the whole dash assembly.

Location of cabin air filtr

Hello. Welcome to FixYa. Please allow us to assist you.

The cabin aire filter is located behind the glove box, and is accessed by the removal of a rectangular plastic plate. To lower the glove box door to access the plate, you must remove the round cylinder's arm that attaches to the glove box door (on the passenger side of the glove box door), and then squeeze in on the glove box (both sides); to defeat the door lowering stops. One the glove box door is lowered all the way down, you will be able to see the access panel plate. Remove the plate and pull out the cabin air filter.

Have ford f150 1996 wont switch to heat from cold replaced switch already

96' or 97' it makes a big difference. 96' models are very simple if you have a basic understanding of automotive work and some basic tools. remove the glove box, the heater core is located behind a panel just inside and below the glove box hole. first remove the plastic panel but not the heater core, to the left of the heater core inside the box is the blend door that separates the heater and A/C cores. this door is often obstructed by pens, pencils, or plastic junk that have fallen down into the defrost vents on top of the dash and landed in the box. something like this will stop the blend door from being able to close the A/C core off from the vents allowing cold air in. if you have big hands like mine you may need a woman or teenager to reach into the box and check for debris but you can see the door open and close when you turn the switch so you know where to check. if you have a 97' model the blend door actuator is electric and usually not accessible without removing the dash and heater/A/C box from the firewall. good luck

For Toyota 2007 rav4 6 cyl.: How do you remove the engine air filter cover without damaging the tubes and hoses connected to it? I am replacing the engine filter.'Thanks for the help.

Under the hood right behind the battery. Undo the clips on that black plastic box and the filter is right there. There is also a cabin air filter behind the lower glove box.

When you change the filter, you shouldn't have a problem with the hoses or tubes.

Fuse box locations on a 2006 jeep wrangler 4.0 6speed manual

To access the fuse panel the glove box must be removed. It is removed by slipping the glove box strap off the hook and letting the door roll down off its hinges. To reinstall, position the glove box door at an 8 o’clock orientation, engage the hinge hook formations on the lower edge of the glove box door with the hinge pins on the lower edge of the instrument panel. Tilt the upper edge of the glove box door upward toward the instrument panel enough to reattach the glove box strap to the door. Rotate glove box door to closed position. Open and close to insure proper installation.

How can I chage the A/C filter on Accent 2007?

Remove the Phillips-head screws and the 10mm bolts that attach the glove box insert to the dash. Pull the release tabs on the glove box door travel stops and release the glove box door from the glove box. Slide the glove box insert out. Remove the lower dash trim panel on the passenger side of the dashboard.Remove the old HEPA filter by depressing the locking tabs on the filter cover located on the front of the plastic evaporator case located directly behind the glove box. Then slide the filter carefully, out and down, to prevent knocking the dust that has been captured by the filter into the evaporator case or onto the carpet.Install the new filter by sliding the new filter into the evaporator case. The new filter is labeled to indicate the direction it should be installed into the evaporator. Push it completely into the case, and close the cover until the latches snap into place.Reinstall the glove box insert and attach it to the dashboard using the original screws and bolts. Insert the door travel stops into their slots and push the door closed. The stops will automatically snap into place. Reinstall the lower dashboard trim to complete the project.

Lower Glove Box Won't Close

I fixed this in a 2010 Rav4 by lowering the glovebox all the way and finding that the cover to the cabin air filter had fallen off and was jamming the hinge of the glove box. To lower the glove box, pull the glove box side walls inward until the lock tabs clear the sides of the opening and you can rotate it all the way down. Clear whatever is jamming the hinge and rotate the glove box back into position. Be sure the hinge is pushed all the way forward onto the corresponding pin before closing the glove box, otherwise there will be misalignment. There is also a plastic air piston on the right side of the glove box assembly that damps the movement of the glove box. Be sure the piston assembly is secured into the two corresponding locking pins (one on the glove box, the other on the glove box opening) before closing the glove box.
