1999 Ford Explorer Power Drivers Seat doesn't work. When I push and of the switches, it doesn't go up, down, forward, backward, nothing. I check the fuses under the hood and didn't find any blown. I checked the fuses on the left side of the dash and none of them were blown. I bought a new replacement power seat mechanism and installed it. When I put the plugs for the seat back inm it would not do anything either. My passenger power seat works but my drivers seat does not work. Suggestions?

Maybe you problem is with the switch, or check if power seat circuit has the regular fuse or rather one of those thermal ones.
Passenger compartment fuse panel
The fuse panel is located on the left hand side of the instrument panel facing the drivers side door.

SOURCE: heated driver seat doesn't heat on 2003 ford explorer

this is a common problem if you use the seat heater alot.one or both of the seat heater elements will have burned up or broken.where i live it is very cold most of the time and i have replaced hundreds of the seat heater elements.it is rare for it not to be one or both of the elements.

SOURCE: I have a 1994 Ford Mustang, but I can't get the

Ive got a 94 mustang and had the same problem... check in the engine where the fuse box is. My problem was the fuse was blown out so it was a quick fix. but if thats the case replacing the fuse is only halfway fixing it because you have to find out what caused it to blow. chances are its a bad ground wire because thats what mine was. as far as the manual release switch i couldnt say on that one because i dont know

2006 Ford Explorer front passenger (power) seat moves forward but not back

Hello. It seems there is a problem with the forward/back switch; works to GI forward but not backward. I recommend replacing that switch first to see what will happen. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

My 01 passat glx has an issue with the drivers side seat everything works except the forward and backward power movement. I hear it click when I push the switch but it won't move any ideas?

The motor located under the seat could be seized. Make sure you have voltage at the motor. Also check that nothing is jammed or restricting movement.

Front seat will not slide forward? The seat will move up and down, tilt, and the lumbar works? Even the heated/cooling seat works? What do I need to look for and how do I fix it:?

The power seat in the truck has 3 motors, one of them is not working, the most common cause of this is the power seat switch is defective, it is often the forward and reverse seat positioning switch that fails because it is the one that is most used. If the switch checks ok then you will need to replace the the power seat track assembly, Ford does not sell any parts for the track, it is only available as one complete unit, I know this because i retired form a Ford dealer. Drivers seat 2000 outback

So here is a diagram of the seat circuitry for your car. Since every other function works except the forward/backward slide function, that leaves basically the forward/backward slide motor, the seat switch, and/or the wiring. If you can verify that the wiring under the seat is in good condition without obstructions, chaffed wires, and/or wires pulled too tight, then it's safe to say it's down to just the motor and/or the switch. Sometimes if the passengers front seat has the same switch, you can plug it in to the drivers' side connector and see what works and what doesn't. If the seat works fine with the other switch, then that's all it needs, if not then it will need a motor. If the other seat doesn't have a switch then you can find them at wrecking yards, or just supply power and ground to the motor in question to see if it works. If it does, then you know you kneed a switch and if not then a motor.
I hope this info helps!~subyguru~

The power seat has problems moving forward and backwards

If the motors try to move then the motors are probably ok if it does not move at all, test at the switch first, make sure the fuse is good ,then pull the switch out so you can test it.power goes through the switch. use a meter or test light to see the voltage moving through the switch when you change positions.
if power is going in and not out the switch is bad.If power comes out of the switch to the motors then something is wrong under the seat.something can be caught in the seat rail.

My front seat will not move forward. It will recline, move up and down but it will not move forward. I've tried reseting the seat positions but nothing seems to work. my seat wont move forward is there a...

You can move the drivers seat back by turning on the power, getting in the seat and position your feet firmly on the fron flor with your back firmly against he seatback, and then engage the switch pushing back - while pushing like hell with your feet. You can actually hear the seat drive shaft turning while the seat moves back. The principle should be the same for moving forward, but pressure would have to be aplide to the back of the seat.

My drivers seat wont move.

check the track for anything that have gotten stuck in it and then check the fuses and if all good the motor could simply be burned out get a 12volt tester and if the fuses are good test to see if you have power while pushing the button because it could be just a bad switch
