Head Lights I have a 1995 crown vic police interceptor. Awhile back I needed to replace the dim head light bulbs. We got the right bulbs and carefully put them in to prevent our skin from toching the glass. We got them changed but then the dims wouldn't light up we double checked the bulbs & if we knocked anything loose & couldn't find anything. Now all I can use are the brights but since they are so dull nobody notices it. Any ideas of what might have happened?

If only the headlights are dull and not putting out the correct light, I would suspect a bad ground (earth) connection somewhere in the headlight circuit or the fuse for the headlight circuit. Something is causing excessive resistance and causing less voltage to be provided for the headlights. If all the lights are dimly lit, then I would check the charging system, the battery and the ground cable for the battery, chassis, and engine.

I have a 2010 ford crown vic police car, not interceptor. i'm removing all the police lights had a weeland overhead light system. i need to get the headlamps working to stock specs, wigwag removed.

If I remember correctly, the factory lights are still separate from the wigwag lights. Once the light controller is removed the factory light switch should still operate like normal. You might need to repair the wiring where the light controller was tapped into the lighting, but just like the headlights operating when the unit was a patrol vehicle.

2006 crown Vic police interceptor former police

The police package interceptors had a common problem with the fans seizing up. There was a TSB ford released to correct the issue which called for the replacement of the electric fan assembly with an updated fan assembly.
