I am looking at buying a 2001 s600 mercedes and i don't know much about the vehicle and the v12. most of the ones i have looked at are right around 80,000 to 90,000 miles i am just curious one what to look for when going over the car and the life expectancy of the motor and parts. I obviously know it depends on the care of the vehicle but i am very nervous about purchasing a car with that many miles any help with this would be greatly appreciated thank you

If you are going to by a S 600 it's really good car as you know the life of car depend on how you treat it, if you maintain it the right way don't worry it's a really good one, when get old some electrical fault can occur it's normal for all the cars not only the S600, so it's really smooth and powerful car before you by it you must check is the previous owner has maintain it properly or not, that's the most important thing check the service history and repair history if the car have been maintain by Mercedes dealer it's be a good car, if you do right way if it's over half million mile not be a problem

Is there a sl 900 Mercedes v12

Looks like you are out of luck. Mercedes is slowly eliminating all v12 since they able to get close to the same speed out of v8 with better fuel efficiency.

S600 will not start, engine turns over.

An s600 is basically two engines bolted together. The fact that it doesn't even try to run on at least six cylinders tells me that it is most likely a control module problem or an EZL-this is located on driver's side under hood on top of wheelwell(you'll need to remove the cover panel to access). It is bolted on and probably even has a vacuum line going to it, along with three plugs. This is not cheap by any means, so look for a used one online. This is about the only unit that you can replace without having to take it to a shop, and unfortunately it oftentimes will scrap a vehicle(due to the cost)
