1978 VW Super Beetle Fuel Injection trouble

I can almost assure you that you need to replace the transmission valve body. It's a $2000 + job by your local mechanic or 4000 from dealer. This is a well known problem with these cars. Ive replaced 2 of them on two different cars in the past year.

know issue, the dealer has some stronger clips, if it still does it use some super glue to keep the clips from poping off.

It should be along the fuel line (in-line filter) leading towards the carb.

Have the fuel pressure regulator checked out,sounds like all the fuel pressure is going threw the injectors.

STOP UP AIR FILTER OR STOP UP FUEL FILTER.FUEL INJECTION PUMP OUT OF TIME OR DEFECTIVE.THE TURBOCHARGER OR WASTEGATE FAULTY.HAVE VECHICLE SCANNED.

It could either be the engine speed sensor or the fuel injection pump. When this happened to me, ofcourse I was in the middle of nowhere. The fuel injection pump needed replacing. To do this they had to also time it... I let vw do this one reluctantly.

My problem has been solved. I contacted the VW Customer Service and spoke with an advocate. The advocate and my dealership reached a conclusion and VW has decided to replace the items to alleviate my problem at their cost. Sometimes, dreams come true. Good luck to all of you who have similar problems with your VW Beetle convertible. It took quite a lot of patience and determination on my part, but the VW advocate was sympathetic to my plight since I'd never taken the vehicle anywhere else but the dealership for all repairs. The repairs have not been completed yet, so I cannot say whether or not the dilemma is, indeed, solved.

Hi there.
Can anybody help me.
I have a problem with my vw golf convertible 1997.
The top will not open or close,
I can hear the motor going but nothing will work.
There is enough fluid for the top to work.
Please help me please.
