2000 Cadillac STS: Engine starts but will quit almost immediately. Sometimes will start and run, but then stalls out after moving about 20 to 50 feet in gear. The vehicle had this same problem at this time last year and then the problem just disappeared and ran perfectly fine. No check engine light comes on. Could this have anything to do with the seasons? It's just starting to get cool again in this part of the country.

That should usually be ither the mass airflow sensor getting dirty if so use carbeurater cleaner to clean it out ir its another air sensor ,just look along the air intake pipe ..and use the cleaner to clean the sensors

If the Security Light is on, the anti-theft immobilizer is stopping the vehicle from running. What did you think its purpose was? :>D

With having wires cut, that makes things complicated.

2005 Cadillac STS 4.6 won't start
Hello. Your car might have a 'cracked' vacuum hose that goes to the fuel pressure regulator. If that's the case, the engine will 'flood' and won't start. It can also be the fuel pressure regulator itself. One more thing: if the torque converter is malfunctioning, that will stop the engine as soon as it is put in any drive gear. GM and Cadillacs Code 13 means Oxygen sensor circuit fault.

Its possible that your need to replace the sensor if have long time using.

Is the gas tank above 1/2 tank now?

A worn / aged fuel pump will fail when it's hot and the fuel level is low (example: below 1/4)

Park your car in a cool area.

Start the car when it's cold outside,

I had the same problem with my STS. Go back through your programing menu and "check" remote start again. Somehow, mine defaulted to not allowing remote start feature. It was good to go as soon as I re-programmed it.

When I turn the key on my car the radio and inside lights come on
I had the same problem for about five months, sometimes the car started for two months than all of a sudden it make take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour to get it to turn over. Final analysis (when it finally would not start for two days) a new starter was needed. (2001 Cadillac STS)

your fuel pump has failed from overheating, the pump is cooled by the gas it runs in, when u run out of gas or low on fuel many times this destroys the pump,replace the fuel pump.

you have no fuel pressure, when u ran out of gas u overheated the fuel pump in the tank, now it is stuck and won't start running, very common problem after running out of gas, replace the fuel pump.
