I drove my 94 Vanden Plas Jaguar to work. Running perfectly as always. Parked. Returned to it to do lunch. Cranked fast as usual, but did not start instantly (as usually does) nor start at all. I hear the fuel pump running (quietly) and there is pressure if I remove the gas cap, so I think fuel system is operative. I checked all relays and fuses (boy are there a lot of those!) Is it likely to be the crank position sensor? Car has never once had an issue nor run anything except superbly. No prior indication of any kind. Just this sudden no start.

Hi, since the fuel pump is running fine and there is pressure as you have claimed with all the relay and fuses in good other, then i will advise you check the crankshaft position sensor which also can cause the car not to start.

The crankshaft position sensor is under hood, center, front engine area, rear of crankshaft pulley, mounted in timing cover assembly.

How do i reset the engine control module in my 1995 jaguar vanden plas 4.0 will this reset ALL setings because i think this car needs it had 3 owners and cant seem to get memory and othe little things.

I'm not sure what you mean by "reset" but have a look for an OBDII / EOBD AUTO SCANNER (there's usually one or two on ebay.) Is that the sort of job you want to do?

I HAVE A 1989 JAGUAR VANDEN PLAS DRIVEING FOWARD IT WORK PERFECT . NO REVERSE. PLEASE HELP UOT OF WORK

Your going to have to have the transmission checked and repaired. There is a pin inside the transmission that can only be accessed when it is dis-assembled and that has sheared off or there solenoid has faulted inside the transmission. I know this is not good news but that is the truth of the matter.
