What is the warning light underneath the "D" (drive symbol) on the Dashboard of a 2008 PT Cruiser? It looks kind of like an exclamation point bordered by paranthesis. I thought it might be a temperature gauge, but the water and oil is fine, plus the temperature gauge is well in the safe zone.

My PT cruiser is a couple of years older, but I had the same problem. Drove fine, but start-up was erratic for several weeks. By the time  AAA arrived, it usually was working fine. But when it suddenly  started "struggling for power on the freeway and further along on the same trip, lurching (on a city avenue) I drove straight to my mechanic. It WAS the same sensor . . . and car has been driving perfectly ever since he changed it.

mcdevito75 here, Yes a crankshaft sensor could cause your mentioned problems, the sensor should be located near the Harmonic balancer, you may need a special tool to remove it and if I'm not mistaken the new sensor thakes an adjustment, Have auto zone change this sensor for you, even if you succeed, how often will you change this sensor.
