IF BATTERY CABLES OLD THEY WILL CAUSE POOR GROUND HIGH RESISTANCE IN STARTER CIRCUIT CAUSING STARTER NOT TO CRANK ENGINE.CHECK TO SEE IF DASH LIGHTS AND GAUGES WORK WHEN YOU TURN ON IGNITION SWITCH IF NO CHECK IGNITION FUSES.IF FUSES OKAY IGNITION SWITCH IS OPEN NEED REPLACING.NOW IF BATTERY VOLTAGE IS 12.6 VOLTS, BATTERY CABLES GOOD AND IGNITION SWITCH AND FUSE OKAY. STARTER SOLENOID OR STARTER FAULTY.REMOVE STARTER TAKE TO ANY AUTO PARTS STORE THEY WILL TEST STARTER.TURN OFF RADIO BEFORE REMOVING NEGATIVE BATTERY SO YOU WONT LOCK OUT RADIO.

1993 Chevy Suburban. Why does it want to start but doesn't turn?

If your saying the starter motor won't crank? Make sure the battery has a full charge and battery connections are all good. Then check the wiring circuits at the starter for voltage and ground. When testing at the starter make sure tranny is in park or neutral and the parking brake is set.

If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, also check fuel injector pulse. Can you check applicable trouble codes? How long since a tune-up?

So my 1993 chevy suburban won't start battery is good and starter is good I got a new ignition switch I got the old one out and I'm having trouble getting the rod to fit in the new one need some help in...

On Blazers, when you turn the key, it pulls the rod up and down. It is by where the tilt is. This rod usually has a bend in it so when you put the new rod in, you have to jiggle it a lot.

1993 Chevy Suburban will not start and has no spark

Check all fuses under the hood. Test the coil with an ohmmeter. Check for battery voltage on the coil primary with key on.
If all good, suspect the crank position sensor. A bad sensor will cause no spark.

I have a 1993 Chevrolet Suburban The engine (new) has been dragging (at times) when starting for a month or so. Now it will not turn over at all, nothing. The battery is good however it only reads 9 volts...

its a possibility that the alternator is shoot, and you do not have the power to turn engine over to start it. if battery is ok ! then get vehicle started. all accessories off, with it running you should have at least 14.2-14.7 voltage at battery. if you do not have a way to check this. auto-zone will check for free, as well as advanced auto.if all is ok, and the voltage running is less the 14 volts. replace alternator. good-day !
