Central locking system is going off until car doors are unlocked? Sounds like door locks are opening and closing all the time? What could be wrong? Where would I look to find this under the hood?

TOP' AFTERMARKET CENTRAL LOCK.

The most common reason for a central locking to re-open on the lock button is the central locking has detected a door or the trunk isn't closed correctly. Open each door and the trunk to check there is nothing in the latch to 'trip' the unlock setting. Close the doors and trunk and retest the remote.
If this doesn't fix the issue have the wiring to the central locking check ed for loose connections or damaged wiring.

Central locking disengages then engages while i am driving

it sounds like your ignition (a box where many switches open or close when you start the car) they get bad connections after a decade or so

Vw golf mk4 my rear passenger door willnot open with central locking key system. i can't even open it from the inside, pull the door handle and the lock pin rises but door won't open. i believ

This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.

Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.

You most likely have a central locking system that will stay locked until you can unhook the battery. This is sounds like a similar problem I had with my 95 BMW.

Although I lock my doors, the unlock by themselves after a short (approximately 40 second) time. The alarm stays on however.

Sounds like the central locking system thinks a door is open, check the bonnet and tailgate switches are indeed closing (and sunroof if fitted) make sure the boot light is not staying on. Try locking it from the passenger side door lock key cylinder instead of the drivers side or the remote and see if it is ok then

Vauxhall combi ,side door of van does not open even when central locking is unlocked, the door cannot be opened manually either frrom inside, very occasionally the side door will unlock but will not lock...

A switch opens the door when you use the central locking system. If the door fails to open or close, this switch has probably gotten detached or the locking mechanism is damaged.
To find the problem and fix it-pull apart the door panel and feel for a thin rod connected to the locking mechanism.
This will help you pinpoint the issue and then fix it.

Cant get back door to stay closed . The lock is stuck in locked position I think and the door is open. When I go to close it, it is'nt staying closed. Had to duck tape it to stay closed. LOL! I keep...

It sounds to me ( correct me if I'm wrong ) like the door latch on the side vertical edge of the door is in the LOCKED POSITION. In order to unlock it perform the following. First electrically with the LOCK button UNLOCK the locks. Now with one hand hold the OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE IN THE OPEN POSITION, while at the same time FLIPPING OPEN THE LATCH. All Done . Now you can close the door. Hope this helps
