Hello there
you should look under the cover behind the seat on the floor. There are 4 phillips screws remove the cover and there is a shifter coupler.Look if it has a play (the plastic is worn out) or the little 3mm allen screw bolt is loose. If ok look at the shifter tower bushing.

I have a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon 4 cylinder 5 speed transmission it will not shift into 3rd gear it makes a grinding noise and you go to shift into fourth gear and acts like there is no 4th gear what do I do

sounds like the shifter plate has moved or the alignment on the gear lever mechanism is out of line or even the gear stick plate linc is out of line. how much wobble is in the gear stick when you put into gear. if you can put in gear and move it far left or right then its not working right.

Isuzu wil not go to 4th gear

forth gear is not a gear as such but a straight coupling of the input and out put shafts
check the gear shift lever for obstructions at the turret or under the mat
Check the drain plug magnet for metal
,3rd and 4th forth use the same selector rail and if there is a problem with the 4th selector fork there would be no chance of selection any other gear as it would lock the box
it is possible that the syncro ring assembly has failed preventing the movement of the dog to engage the teeth in which case it is box out for repair

Gearbox cables 1989 model

You should look for the clips and rubber bushing at end of the cables, at shift lever and at the transmission. Buy a repair kit and replace them. That will take care of the problem. Good luck.

it could be the valve body sticking, or worn clutch plates in the 3 & 4th gear planetary drum, or 3rd &4th gear solenoid is bad

I have a 1987 Accord LX 4 dr. When driving at approximately between 55 to 60 mph the transmission shifts back and forth between 3rd and 4th gear with the slightest acceleration. It seems to me it's doing...

Depends on the throttle position, there is a adjustment for that transmission. I would suggest someone who has Honda experience, like a dealer.

97 venture 4 speed electronic transmission not shifting into 4th

4th clutch hub splines are stripped off. GM didn't harden the splines until 2004 or so so the early model gradually wear to the point where they are so thin they strip off - and then, no 4th gear
