Hi, the brakes on my Saturn Vue (front disc and rear drum) are making a loud rubbing sound when I come to a complete stop, the brake pedal also vibrates and becomes resistant also, any idea what this may be?

The vibration is caused by the rotors being warped. Remove the front tires and check the front brake pads. Replace if needed. This is a pretty straight forward job. The rotors are "fall off" rotors and you won't need anything special tool wise.

Rubbing noise on rear brake 2008 g5

Disc or caliper? Age and miles on brakes? Front brakes do 70% of stopping power. Obviously, disc or drum is rubbing. If disc, probably need to replace caliper.

I have a 2003 saturn vue that i just replaced the rear brakes and turned the drums on. Now i'm having problems with them clicking when i aply them to stop. There is no problem stoping

Remove drums and inspect the resurfacing job. If it looks like a record they resurfaced them on too fast of a cut , or out of round . If there isn't enough metal on drum to resurface again time for new drums.

2004 Saturn VUE AWD V6 has a harsh grinding sound in front wheels

Have you checked your wheel bearings? When these go out you can get a harsh grinding noise. This sounds like that is what it might be. Does it happen when you are going fast/slow turning/going straight? I know you said it's inconsistent but the more info the better. However, if I had to bet, based on what you have already said, it's your wheel bearings. Let me know if you have further questions. Thanks for using FixYa!

2006 Saturn steering wheel vibrates/shakes when coming to a stop.

your brake rotors need to be turned down. you need to check the brake pads while your at it. if they are thin. change them and pack the bearings while there out. and change the inter greace seals. then your good for another 50 - 70 000 miles. also ask them to pull the rear drums and check for wear. they call it free inspection. this is sometimes caused from water splashing on hot rotors, makes the brake pedal to pulsate...

Loose emergency brake on 2004 Saturn Vue

  1. Apply and fully release the park brake several times. Verify that the park brake lever releases completely.
  2. Turn ON the ignition. Verify the red BRAKE warning lamp is not illuminated.
  3. If the red BRAKE warning lamp is illuminated, verify the following:
    • The park brake lever is in the fully released position and against the stop.
    • There is no slack in the park brake cable.
  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disable the SIR system.
  3. Remove the front floor console.
  4. With the park brake lever in the released position, using ONLY hand tools, loosen the adjusting nut completely to the end of the front cable threaded rod.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle.
  6. Remove the rear tire and wheel assemblies.
  7. Adjust the rear drum brakes.
  8. Ensure there is no brake shoe drag after adjustment by rotating the brake drums. If drag exists, re-center the brake shoes and perform the brake shoe adjustment again.
  9. Install 2 wheel nuts to the wheel studs and firmly hand tighten in order to retain the brake drums.
  10. Lower the vehicle to permit access to the park brake lever.
  11. Raise the park brake lever 1 detent position. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
