Starting problems my 1999 xj 8 jaguar somtimes will not start after it has run for several days. I have to jump start it. then it will run for several days and then the same problem exist.

I presume that the problem is when you have NOT used the car for several days.
So far I have tracked the problem on my car to something fed by fuse 14 (engine management) in the rear of the 2 fuse boxes under the bonnet. Mine is an intermittent problem giving a drain of 0.6amps (after all the systems have shut down approx 45minutes after anything electrical has operated). I have found if i remove the fuse and then refit it the problem goes away for a period.

Car cranks won't start

I'd change the plugs as per this link, and swear by an 'internal service' by chemicals as manufactureed by BG Products available on Ebay (The chemicals are for professional use so stick to the instructions). If you haven't seen this thread, take a look.

The gas gauge on our 1995 Jaguar XJ-6 has been malfunctioning for several months. It can read zero or full or anything in between, even after a fillup, but usually reads zero until the car burns some of...

There is a FLOAT in the gas tank that bobs up & down in the gas in which the gauge gets a signal from to let u know your fuel level. they can go bad & send erratic readings to the gauge. (like a toilet bowl float) That is the most common cause of your problem. Good Luck

1984 jaguar xj6 left lights on for a couple hours, car won't start but lights and radio come on

you need to make sure you have full battery voltage, turning the engine takes more power than a radio or lights, you can try having someone jump your battery to see if that helps,if it starts give it a good run without alot of lights and stuff on to recharge battery

Won't turn over

your starter is shot most likely. the noise is the drive gear at the end of the starter not throwing far enough onto the flywheel. Dont keep starting like this as a new flywheeel will be v expensive if damaged! Have your battery checked out too as a limp battery will not produce the power that the solenoid needs to throw that gear out properly and a new starter will fail too.
Pls rate me if this helps.
