Try replacing the transmission fluid along with the filter for best results. I did this and it made a world of a difference, seemed to breath new life into the car.

92 honda accord lx auto trans has been shifting around 2,500-3,000 rpm each gear and now the D4 gear does not work at all and D3 works but accelerates slowly after a complete stop. i have to shift down...

check transmission fluid level- run/drive for about 10 min. , park car- check with engine running- add fluid if needed- ,if fluid NOT low- transmission filter needs to be changed

96 HONDA ACCORD 4 CYL AUTOMATICE KEEPS SHIFTING IN AND OUT OF PASSING GEAR AT 55 TO 60 MPH.

clearly - this is a shifting solenoid in your transmission. Either the power leading to the solenoid is not functioning properly or the solenoid needs replacing. there's a slim chance that the transmission fluid is low or otherwise shot... as always check the easiest/ most inexpensive fix first.

Depends on the throttle position, there is a adjustment for that transmission. I would suggest someone who has Honda experience, like a dealer.

My 1993 honda accord lx..4 cyl. 2.2 ltr auto transmission problem

It's the "shift" solenoid on your transmission has gone bad. Get it at the junk yard for around $80.00. You want the "shift" solenoid, not the "lock-up" one.You can see it on the front of your transaxle. It has a small electrical plug attached and comes off easily. Both solenoids may be together, or you may only have one. Easy fix, but depending on the doner car, your shift points may change (engine may seem racier)

Car will not shift into overdrive

As a response to solution #1 these cars do have an overdrive while in D-4, mine was shifting in and out at 70 mph until it finally quit and the rpm is now 3100 at 70 mph insted of 2700. The car still shifts 4 full times just not the fifth-OD. I still can't find out what fixes this problem either.
