How to replace exterior door mirror on 2003 Yukon XL?

I have unbolted the mirror. but do I need to remove all interior panels to get to the wiring connectors?

  • Ripper61 Jun 10, 2008

I should have been more specific. Where are all the screws that hold the the interior door panel in place? I dont want to break the trim while trying to pull the panel off if one of the screws is still attached.

  • Ripper61 Jun 10, 2008

I understand how to remove trim. But interior trim attaching screws differ by make/model/year/etc. The video doesn't pinpoint those screws for my vehicle...a 2003 Yukon (per the heading of my initial post).

I figured it out on my own so I paid $9.99 for nothing. For your future reference, there are two screws that have to be removed; one directly under the grip on the arm rest and another under the sliding lock, which is removed by gently prying with a screwdriver. There is also a trim piece around the handle itself that must be gently pried loose. Then lift the entire panel up and away from the door to expose the swithes and protective plastic.
