My 2006 Sprinter has over 30,000 miles and when going up long, steep slopes it slows down, but keeps running smooth. I did change the fuel filter recently and that did help but did not solve the problem. I have used some additives which has not helped. It is not driven during the winter and kept in an unheated garage (it does not freez) and the fuel (diesel) tank is not full. What do I need to do?

YOU HAVE A AIR LEAK IN THE TURBO SYSTEM CK HOSE'S MY 2006 3500 SPLIT THE HOSE HIGH WHISTLING SOUND. LOW POWER / AND LIMP MODES TOO. ORDER THIS AND BINGO IF FIX IT . YES THE OLD TURBO RESONATOR HAD SPLIT TOO. I did not use the o-ring from the old part I found one 1 side down that fit tight around the new part. A loose o-ring is going to weak air too. Got mine on ebay.

I hate to tell you but these diesels are strong but loose power going up steep hill the trany shifts into low gear but its not going to go up fast, you can have the dealer change the shift pattern to get a little more power out of it or you can manually downshift to go faster, hope this helps.

IF you change the transmission the Transmission Module has to be re programed (FLASHED) yes it stores codes too.and re trained the gears to shift at the right rpm in the star program

2006 Hyundai Elantra with 2.0 automatic with 111000 miles. Car is hesitating and begins shaking going up steep hills. Problem seems the worst at around 3000 rpm going up hill. The car wont stop shaking...

There's many reasons this can happen, but start simple. Fuel pump may be failing. Usually under load they can not supply the fuel the engine is demanding. (Up hill acceleration is a classic example). change the fuel filter first, if that doesn't not correct the problem, test fuel system pressure. (:

I have a '06 Eclipse GT V6 with 40K miles on it. I called the Mitsubishi service department to do either 30K or 60K scheduled maintenance. They have marked down on the quote sheet for automatic...

You need to do the trans fluid and power steering every 30,000 miles on all vehicles. Forget what they say
I used to own a trans shop.
Flush Brake fluid every two years
Coolant every three
Spark Plugs at 60,000 miles
Fuel Filter 30,000 miles.

I would stay far away from the dealer
Go to a local shop

Is the subaru 2002 impreza difficult to maintain?

No the subarus run a long time especially if you change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles and say every 25,000 to 30,000 change the spark plugs and wires and every 30,000-40,000 change the fuel filter.Basically just do routine maintaining of the vehicle and its not uncommon for them to run 200,000 miles or more.

Car cuts off

Were going to keep this simple and hope it's the fuel filter that has reach the end of it's life and needs to be replaced. They have an average life of 30,000 miles or 1 year. If you have not replaced the fuel filter every year or 30,000 miles, good chance that the filter needs to be replaced. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, be glad to answer any question you may have.
