Starting I have a 91 EXT. cab 4x4 w/ auto tranny, truck starts fine most of time, after shutting off sometimes wont start again, turn key everything works like it should except wont turn over. ocassional click from EM at pass. kick panel. what could cause this. also occasionally sounds like tranny smacking bottom of truck during take off. All mounts and joints checked by pro, checked OK. Any help would be a blessing. Thank you and God bless..

It sounds like a meaningless anomaly. Sometimes if you open the door with the key instead of the remote fob, that will happen.

have you checked tranny fluid

Yes it could but before you replace something it doesn,t need have the chargeing system check out on it, Most auto part stores , Have a tester, End will do it for no charge for you,

SOLINOID ON FRONT AXLE IS MOST COMMON PROBLEM. CHECK FOR POWER ON BLUE WIRE AT SOLINOID ON FRONT AXLE. KEY MUST BE ON WITH SHIFTER IN 4X4. CHECK FUSE FIRST I THINK IT IS THE SAME FUSE AS RADIO.

chk and clean the crank position sensor. Make sure it is firmly mounted and the connector is clean and secure.

That is right. Could be security system. If anything fails it won't allow the vehicle to start.

check connections at starter

replace the control moddule .its under the hood along the fire wall . i had a ford pickup would start fine . untill the moddule would get hot and shut off the motor it would crank and crank but if i let it sit and cool off it would start right up as if nothing was worng .let me know if you find the module . you might need to by a clymers book at a auto store and it'll tell everything there is to know about your car and were and how to find and replace everything

Trans is in safe mode, you will have to get scanned to see codes.
