Is your temperature gauge drop closer to "C" when the vehicle is moving at high speeds?? If so, this may be a stuck open thermostat, or missing thermostat. Replace to prevent this issue. Hopefully this helpd!!

05 Lincoln LS 3.0 V6. Outside air temp 32F. Idle decay when cold

This sounds like you have a pcv hose that has become an open vacuum leak. It is located under the upper intake, or given the year your air filter box may not be correctly sealed and possibly have a mass air flow sensor concern. Any Check engine light or codes to work with ? I f you have further questions just leave a comment on my page,

2000 lincoln ls heater not working...thermostat?

- If temp guage reads normal, the lack of heat may be due to the Heater Control Valve. Located in front of the radiator. Lower passenger side. A real bugger to replace.
- The plastic cap just over the thermostat is key in re-filling the anti freeze and bleeding air.
