2003 Honda Civic Logo
Anonymous Posted on Oct 26, 2010

I have a 2003 Honda Civic LX 4door, it won't start at all not even with a jump. All the lights and stereo and locks and windows work while jumped but will not start, not even a click. No sound whatsoever when I turn the key all the way. It all started because we had the car parked for about a month without use and the alarm L.E.D drained the battery so we had to jump it and it worked fine, jumped it again the next time we used it, unfortunately the third time we had to jump it it didn't work. Hasnt started since. PLEASE help, thank you!

Any help appreciated, we just had a baby and really need the car to start again, I already looked for blown fuses and cleaned the battery terminals but the car just won't start. The strangest thing is that it won't even click or make any sound at all when I turn the key all the way even while jumped. Never seen this problem before, please help, thank you.

Check the main fuses you must have blown one or two fuses

  • Anonymous Oct 26, 2010

Thank you, I forgot to mention I tried checking the fuses under the dash and the fuses under the hood, didn't find any problems, any specific fuse advised?

dont use the physical eye did you use a meter to check continuity , check if your mai power cable has power thats putting on the ignition and checking the wire which goes to the starter if it has open the ignition cover and check if you have current on the switch if not follow the power cable to the fuse

2003 Honda Civic has check engine and oil light on without putting key in after connecting battery.

Question moved to model category.

All sorts of ideas here. You need an auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer to sort that mess out.

You could try a reset again.

Disconnect both battery leads for 10 minutes. Hold positive and negative together for 2 minutes. Connect positive lead. Connect negative lead. Reset security system.

2003 lexus es300 won't start... radio lights and windows work. Tried a jump start, still doesnt work...

Are you saying the engine cranks but won't start, or the engine won't crank ?
If the engine does not crank, you would check for voltage at the starter, the neutral safety switch, and the key switch as well as the ground connections.

My car won't start. The key is put in the ignition and there is a ticking sound. The lights come on, the break is hard to press but when i do the ticking noise stops. 2002 honda civic. only 40,000 mi....

Your battery power has been drained. First thing I would do is to charge the battery via using another car to jump start the car and let it run for an hour or two. Or get a charger and jump the car. Either way I would run it for an hour or two recharge the battery. If that doesn't work then you will have to replace the battery.

To make your car enable running, just turn on your key ( BUT don not start) , wait for moment until your fuel is primed and light goes Off, then start your car. It should be work.
