Key fob for 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix doesn't work in spite of just changing the battery. The lock button worked for a couple of days after changing the battery but then quit again. This key fob also has the remote start feature which isn't working.

I have the same problem with my 2008 Grand Prix - replaced the batteries in both key fobs - they worked for a few days and quit working. Remote start does not work and both of the cigarette lighter chargers do not work either. I have recieved a "charging system failure" message on the readout screen as well. I have checked with 2 different mechanics and they are not sure what it is. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have the same issue. I read on others post and some of the answers said if you have an engine light on it will not work. Appearently GM made it that way. Once your engine light is off, it will work again. Once again this what I read. Neither of my Key Fobs work after replacing my batteries and I DO have an engine light on. I have also read others saying you have to bring it to a dealership to get reprogrammed.

2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. Why does my auto door locks keep blowing a fuse when shifting out of park?

You need a good auto-electrician. Something in the shifter is causing that fuse to blow. It must have some shared power. Your doors work fine. Take the control apart and check for chafing, and check all the way down to the transmission.

My keyless remote isn't working at all on my 2007 pontiac grand prix???? i even changed the battery and still not working, but i noticed my service tire monitor system is on all the time and that's when my...

When you change the battery on your key fob, sometimes you will have to reprogram it to your car's security system for it to function. Make sure your trunk and hood are closed along with all of the other doors, then get into the driver's seat and shut the driver's side door. Put your key into the ignition and click it into ACC mode which is to click it back one click. Wait momentarily until you hear a beep. Quickly now click it forward once and then back to ACC mode where you will then hear another beep. Now open the driver's side door and then shut it to hear the last beep signifying that you are now in Programming Mode.

Press and hold down both the lock and unlock buttons for fifteen seconds and listen for the beep which will signal that the fob has been programmed. Continue this for all existing and new fobs, you will be able to program four remotes to your Grand Prix and will have to do them all at once due to the memory being forgotten every time you enter Programming Mode. Once you have programmed all of the remotes and heard a beep for each one programmed, remove the key from the ignition to exit Programming Mode. You are now free to test your fobs and ensure that they all work.

The key fob for my 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix will not work. I have checked the battery & that is not the problem. Is there a program to reset the key fob?

The key fobs stop working because the solder joints that hold the battery in place break free. Very easy to fix with a little solder and a soldering iron. I just fixed a bunch of them for people I know including BOTH of the fobs for our 2006 GP GT. Takes about 5 minutes each.
