Mercedes has had issues with their cd changers for years. The price they quoted you is not to bad actually as a brand new Mbz cd changer can be a little pricey. They call it reconditioned because the housings are not brand new but all the interior components are. Your stock cd changer has the connection for the fiber optic wires. If you go with aftermarket you will lose that connection and will not be able to control the cd player from the radio or the steering wheel controls.
