It is a good possibility that the lubricating oil supply to the turbo bearings is leaking out and this is being drawn into the air inlet and being burnt by the engine. Fixing or replacing the turbo should be your first point of action. Once this problem is solved the catalyst will likely cure itself once it is hot enough to 'burn' off the contamination. A good long run with the 'new' turbo fitted should help here. You do not state if your car is petrol or diesel. If diesel then you are lucky not to have encountered a 'run away' condition in which the engine begins to ignite the lubricating oil and uses it as an alternative fuel source. Under these conditions the engine will not switch off but continues to **** in more and more oil producing huge clouds of smoke. The engine will run until all the oil is finished and then the engine seizes up due to loss of lubrication.
No Chance at all, Its oil leaking into turbo from seal, Burned da tubo Eh. To check, remove turbo and start, loud as all hell but no smoke and you have found the problem, If not check piston rings, valves. ie check compression and check vacuum with gauge.
