Hi. A single click from under the hood on an attempted start could mean a bad starter relay. You may want to test the battery also if there is a charge. Might be the car is not charging the battery.
Yes, there is another relay plate / fuse box, for 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.0 liters engine. On the passenger's side under the hood is placed the fuse box / relay plate no.# 2. See picture below:
Only one relay can make one click when turning "ON" ignition.
The relays diagram is:
R1 = Reserve relay
R2 = Reserve relay
R3 = A/C compressor clutch relay
R4 = Horn relay
R5 = Central locking relay
R6 = Windscreen wiper motor relay
R7 = Wiper motor up/down relay
R8 = Unused relay
R9 = Unused relay
R10 = Fuel pump relay
R11 = Starter motor relay
R12 = Transmission Control Module (TCM) relay

Not a Grand, just Cherokee 4.0. When looking at the correct fuse box, which relay would make the click?
